Another thought too, I would assume this means there will be no S650 GT350 from Ford ever. I would think Shelby talked to Ford and if Ford was doing a GT350, Shelby wouldn’t have done this. Just a thought.
Pretty sure this almost went without saying. Ford made it clear it's going in non-Shelby directions with the DH & GTD introductions plus the future expected (possibly) Boss and/or Cobra models

Both of Ford’s Shelby cars, the GT350 & GT500, ended with Heritage Editions. Ford is done making Shelbys for the foreseeable future.

I guess a S650 GT500 isnt off the table yet
Ford and Shelby don’t have a contract for any further production. All future production will be done by SAI
Clearly SA owns the GT350 naming rights, I assume they also own GT500? I had thought they were under Ford's realm.
Interesting to note they won't even be built at SA. They will be built at Turn Key Automotive in Michigan & sold thru select Ford dealers. IF it were not for SA doing the intro today, my first thought would have been it sounded like more like a Ford program.

At $109k starting price puts it in prev gen GT500 price territory and a good $30-40k over a current DH. Clearly a significant performance improvement over the DH, but not enough for me to give up my current 500. Now IF I was unable to get a GT500, I would pretty much say, sign me up, this looks like a good replacement. Very imited production run though. What I still have to ask, is the Super Snake worth extra money given this competitor?

I think it's smart that Shelby is targeting the consumer who wants something between the DH & GTD and they are doing it before Ford does
Shelby Trust owns everything all names respectively GT500, GT350 etc. in effect SAI. The edgy snake is a partnership between Ford and Shelby for the S550. Notice the Snakes on this edition.
My initial take is I am not a fan. Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of the 650 anyway, but this seems like a Super Snake with alternate options and badging. I am and always will be a Shelby supporter and fan but this smells like a complete money grab to me. I pray that don't do the same to the GT500 name.
Ford won’t be producing any more 350/500 as of now. Everything if they bring back the 500 for the 1967/2027 anniversary will be done at SAI. This is a 1965/2025 Anniversary edition GT350.

It’t part of the survival of Shelby American

Kinda disappointed that the GT350 makes less power than the GT-Darkhorse. I feel like Ford has stopped doing "different" things or bettering the Mustang platform, instead they are just tossing common add-on parts on then calling it "new".

owns 2014 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
This was very depressing in my opinion. It pretty much solidified what was already suspected. We will not see a Ford produced GT350 or GT500 in the S650. I was hopeful this was going to be something new and well priced but again it was a let down. There is no way I would move from my GT350R for this rebadged super snake. I am way more excited for the Boss at this point. I think it will be the car we have been waiting to see.

@AZ21GT500 Chris was right, Ford isn't going to make a GT350 or a GT500. He basically stated it a good two years ago.

So Ford will bring back the BOSS Label from what I have read.

Those Shelby American Shelby GT350'S will be sweet I am sure but at a price range of 150K to 200K no thanks

So the reveal is a new GT350 & 350R based on s650.
480HP & 810/830 HP versions
Will this be the "budget" version of the Super Snake?

Interested to find out the differences between the Super snake & this car??? Also, the GT350 heritage owners might be a tad pissed this was released?

Not pissed at all. It's a white S650 mustang GT with stripes and badges. It's not a bespoke, flat plane crank, Wimbledon White, factory Shelby. If anything, the GT350 HEs just became even more special. 😁

I have a friend with a 2018 GT PP1 A10 that I let drive my 2024 solo. He was amazed by the transmission and suspension upgrades over his car.
Is it possible that the fact that it's about 6 or 7 years newer plus MagnaRide that really makes the difference? Fresh suspension bits and such?

What model exactly do you have? Darkhorse or GT Premium all loaded up? Let's see some pics.

SA is getting absolutely drug right now on forums, social media and youtube…

People hated on the S650 pretty bad too. When buyers realize there are no other options for a brand new top of the line Shelby, beside the Darkhorse, they'll probably come around.

I do think this was a move in the right direction for SA though. Less expensive model which in my opinion looks better than the gaudy super snake(I still think that car is hideous). They even toned down having something say Shelby every 5” on the car. This car does present well but it is still too expensive when you can get a whipple put on from the factory with warranty. It has to be under 100k to get new young drivers behind the wheel. The 2015-2020 gt350 was the best entry level car for the brand ever and it topped out at 75k for the top version. They missed the mark but maybe a course correction can be made somehow.
