So with the new GTD announced today, it got me thinking: Which would you rather buy if you could get one, a GTD or a Code Red? Both cost around $300K+ (plus options). So just a poll for fun. Have at it, chime in with your thoughts...and vote the poll!

Mustang GTD: 800 hp, carbon/magnesium/titanium parts, rear DCT transaxle...

Shelby Code Red: 1300 hp, twin turbo, Motec, boost by gear...

GTD is so so much more.
It's purpose built to kill the new GT3RS & AMG Black Series

Full CARBON BODY
Rear mounted transaxle
Carbon Ceramic Brakes
Magnesium wheels
The suspension!!
DRS wing!!!

GTD ALL DAY LONG!!

Now who can get me allocation?!
Exactly, GTD ALL DAY and twice on Sunday.

I'm honestly torn here, I think the GTD is built for just all out track killing and I 100% like that. The Code Red is however extremely limited being only 30 will be made. My problem would be I'm driving the damn thing for 300K and not letting it sit collecting dust for a future payday. That being the case I think I would eventually pick the GTD because I see the Code Red as a piece of art and I would have a hard time beating the hell out of it on the track.

so i'll chime in (i guess). i think both are cool cars. i get it, they have a "bling bling wow" factor to them. but they just seem over the top, trying too hard, especially the wide body stuff. they look like they belong in some video game, not reality. i actually think the S550 GT500 is almost perfect. not ultra wide and gaudy, but still very aggressive. and then the $300k price which is a bare minimum. gonna cost more like $400k after all the options and TTL, etc. i know both will sell out like taylor swift concerts. but like taylor swift concerts, i have no interest...let alone the money LOL.

There are pills for that.

I believe our Cars are slightly underrated to begin with I would say we are closer to 785/790 to begin with, maybe closer to 635 lb of torque.

But that being said Arron, I am with you, I'd like that extra 100lbft or torque too ;) 🙏🙏🙏

I have not got used to the squinty headlights on the S650. The front fender vents look horrible to me. But if Ford would take my money I’d get one in a heartbeat.
Now to convince my wife that this is a better investment than the stock market and then cash in the 401k. 😉

If I had to make a wager I’d say that Ford will have a similar “2-year no-sell” agreement with those who get to buy one of these similar to what they did with the GT. This will drive prices up on them and the first person to put one up for sell in 2027 will probably make a very significant ROI.

GTD.

As much as I love Ben and Jeremy at Fathouse as they've been friends since my 20's, one could argue that you could replicate 95% of that build on your own separate from the Code Red program.

There is no way you're replicating the engineering or design of the GTD for anywhere close to it's $300K price tag. Ford will 100% lose money on every one of those they build.

I’m a diehard Shelby guy and I couldn’t agree more. I picked the GTD because it’s going to be a masterpiece of race pedigree and engineering. I can’t wait to drive one.

I think most owners of this GTD are not going to be paying 300K but after options I'm guessing it's more like 350k plus ttl. getting awfully close to the 400k mark or even a lot more if there's markup, and it makes me wonder what other cars are in that price range that will outperform it.

that said I will confess the GTD is growing on me as I'm seeing some images of it online.
