I thought the big claim to fame was the fantastic "yellow bushing" made in Australia. No?

Suffice to say many of us on this forum as well as SVTP can tell the gauge of steel is inadequate. Regardless of the box design.

As for your NAFTA agreement. I purchased my 2013 GT500 and received the Certificate of Origin which clearly stated U.S.A. I surrendered that in order to register my vehicle and create the title.

However my car clearly has NAFTA Agreement parts from Mexico and Canada. It also has the SVTPP wheels that were made in Taiwan. Even our own Ford Motor Company can produce a product assembled in the USA with parts outside the USA and give it a USA certificate of origin.

When I was asked to be a distributor of Whiteline this question was not clearly answered and IMO it still isn't.

Regardless, the folks on this and other forums are at liberty to review the evidence and pictures and make their own assumptions as to whether or not they want to put these components with that gauge of steel on their car.

I for one will not and will provide copies of this to every one of my potential customers since you clearly believe that the product design is acceptable and I do not.
 
I still can't see your first pic for some reason it just sits there and tries to load..crazy but I do take your word for it. Maybe these are made in the same plant as a certain H pipe?
 
I can't disclose specific design of our products like gauges of steel ect on a public forum.

They are not just assembled but actually made produced in Southern California. See NAFTA CERT below.

Pictures of workers manufacturing our parts is a little bit of a over the top request. The below form is a legal binding document that many of my distributors need to keep on file.

sorry, not buying a NAFTA as manufactured in the good ole USA. I manufacture products all over the world. Nafta does not mean made in usa.
 
Can't really see if it is a bent box design or welded in all the corners. I do see a lot of cracking and bent box designs are not very strong.
I would look at the material certs and the carbon content and composition of the material. Heat from welding has compromised the strength.
How do I know this you ask.... I've been in manufacturing of automotive components and military associated parts for quite some time. Have seen this problem many times in returned product after durability testing.

Although already posted on another site I would like to re-state our position since this has been reposted here.

I would like to address this isolated issue. Firstly, most of yesterday was dedicated to investigating this very specific matter and ensuring the owner is being taken care of. As Van and many others have expressed this is no joking manner and we take this very seriously. As this post was created we were focused on the customer instead of the PR side.

Our first priority is ensuring the end user customer is taken care of. Our customer service / technical advisers have been in contact and discussed with the vehicle owner. We are at the moment investigating what may have caused and will have a better picture once the faulty unit is sent to us for analysis. The owner has been in contact and sent replacement - should arrive sometime today if not already.

Although this is only 1 isolated incident, the break looks serious enough and is alarming to us that we have raised its urgency here internally. Again, we must review the original unit and if stress was applied to other areas ie bushings, before conclusive decisions can be made.

We've utilized the help of many of the nations top dealers and Mustang specialists to test our products in extreme conditions. This is the very 1st failure of this kind we've encountered on a relatively mild vehicle. Our supporters, dealers, and test cars have been on practically every road surface, driving condition, mild to well over 1000+ HP vehicles, and seen extreme loads from multiple angles in drag racing, road racing, and drifting on many of the nations top motorsport platforms.

Please do not minimize our dealers (and yours) and customers by simply implying its all about margins. We have global operations and the laws of economies of scales allow us to pass on those savings to customers. Our customers are our first priorities so please allow us the opportunity to review this failure and investigate proper course of action before blanket statements about our entire operations.

We have experience racing many different vehicles of varying weights and suspension designs - we are confident we can investigate and make right. I will confidently say we are not too proud to improve designs when necessary. Our business in Ford Mustang is an important goal of ours we have NO problem continuing to perfect our parts at ANY COSTS!

PS. Our parts indeed are manufactured AND Assembled in the United States of America in sunny Southern California. That means the Chromoly is from USA, cut in USA, welded in USA, powder coated in USA etc… Please stop implying anything else and it is extremely unethical when we are trying to do the exact opposite. We have been doing everything we can to in-source a majority of our manufacturing into the United States, not just for Mustang but for many other platforms as well. The only part on this unit not made in the United States is the yellow bushings.

Comparing the thickness of our steel to others we need to factor in the grade of materials used. We use 4130 Chromoly steel which is stronger then mild steel. We factored weight/strength compromise, torsional strength integrity, and other characteristics into our decision making.

Again please allow us the opportunity to examine what is going on - we've had years of experience delivering top quality products and grade A customer service.

I was asking your sales representative that asked me to carry your products the specifics of what you mention above. Who, what, when and where? If I read this correctly, Whiteline doesn't actually own a Mustang S-197 and/or Shelby GT500 that enabled your company to test the products you've created? You solely depended on supporters, dealers and their vehicles for feedback? If so it would be compelling to know who.

I hope for the sake of safety this is an isolated incidence. My allegiance is to the customers/forum members and making sure they are educated about what they are buying before they buy regardless of what brand they select.

NOW a THIRD Reported. Contact Whiteline directly. They have stopped selling the product and informed their distributors to stop.
Wow! They should bring you in as a consultant for R&D.

At least give them credit for halting sales. I wonder if they will offer a replacement part to existing owners.

They still have liability until those existing units are replaced.

The problem is this was never adequately tested or it would have been discovered immediately and never produced.
Sounds like they saw a market and rushed to jump into it. Odd for a company with their reputation.

It does prove the adage: "Never bring your price point down to a point where the quality suffers." Hopefully the lesson was learned.

Whiteline called me this afternoon. We had a good long conversation.

In short, I told them they need to re-think their design and it definitely needs more material and a "beefier" design. They are not selling the product and they are going back to the drawing board. Wise decision on their behalf. They've ask me to participate in reviewing their final design to which I have agreed.
