MYSTICHROME RETURNS

Mystichrome is a prismatic, color-shifting paint that made its debut 20 years ago on the 2004 Cobra. It first appeared on the 1996 Mustang Cobra as "Mystic" and was reformulated for the 2004 Cobra. Mystichrome displays a dynamic range of hues, including blue, green, gold, purple, and root beer. This unique paint allows viewers to see different colors from different angles, making it a fan favorite when it was released. However, due to its limited production—around 1,000 vehicles—and the high cost of materials, Mystichrome has remained a rare and highly sought-after option. Now, through the RTR Extended Color Palette, Mystichrome is available again, allowing a new generation of Mustang enthusiasts to experience it.

I have mention this before that I am going to repaint a 2020+ diecast Mystichrome, I found the paint code, but I am curious if anyone here can verify this before I even try to get next week.

G6, or PPG Paint Code 903070.

Paint code PPG 903070 - blue purple green : This blue purple green automotive paint color is most commonly known as Mystichrome. Another common paint color ...

👆 Disregard… I haven’t bought Mystichrome from them in a long time… looks like they don’t carry it any more.

I did google it and G6 is correct.

I am actually extremely excited that RTR is doing this. I have been waiting for a company to do this. Yes it is expensive but it is also done right. I would love to do a bespoke color or just grow the Code Orange fleet but genuinely I am so thrilled RTR is doing this. I am not sure if they will do just any car or they will only do strictly RTR but either way this is a huge step in the right direction.

This is strictly for RTR builds. They've partnered with a FOX Factory that's giving them access to options for vehicle builds and finishes that they've never had before, and apparently this is one of the inclusions. This video came out a few days before the Mystichrome announcement so I'm guessing they're related.

You guys are gluttons for punishment out in the real world, driving around town, getting shout-outs and hoots and hollers from every huck-a-buck in town.

I served a 1.5 year sentence in a new '96 Mystic Cobra. I eventually found solace and peace by driving my daily-commute with a bag over my head, that seemed to shut them up.. ;) LOL....

(I'll never be able to resist Tim ;) )

If it was a daily driver, I could see how the attention would get old.

Considering that they've got to completely re-finish a car that's already in factory paint, to a high standard of quality, $16K retail is actually a bargain.

Haven’t seen “urban bamboozle” but in speaking with RTR director it’s a takeoff from Porsche color except RTRs is going to change from green to grey to blue hues slightly but the base is like:
