Holy CRAP!

“Owners of affected vehicles will receive new seats with improved welds. Ford’s reference number for this recall is 18C08.”

“2010-14 Ford Mustang vehicles built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant, June 8, 2009 to Dec. 16, 2011”

No Tim. Go back and read it again. The seat issue only applies to the Ecosport, not the Mustang. The airbag applies to the Mustang.

Don't leave him alone with the car and keys. Just to be on the safe side, and I'm betting you would do this without me saying...but just in case. ?

So Ford showed up this past Saturday morning as promised to replace my passenger air bag. He showed up on time and took all of about 20 min to replace.

Ford is doing this type of service is certain cities in California, Texas, and Florida. Those 3 states represents the highest population of mustangs according to the Ford rep.

If you're in any of the 3 states this is being done in, let me know and I'll pass along the reps information (already have his consent) via PM. He said if you simply text him with your VIN, City and State and he will find someone to contact you if your City is included in this effort.

Recieved a letter today from Ford regarding my passenger side airbag. I guess when it goes in for service this spring I’ll schedule that as well. After looking at my manual it’s also time for coolant flush and replacement. This September I will have had it 6 years. Hard to believe.

I got one in the mail today too. Guess they'll have to wait a little while though. Once I get her running again, I won't take her out on the cinder covered roads until DOT or Mother Nature clears them.

Got my passenger side notification today. Someone decided they had to print a second notice written in Spanish! Tree huggers should be outraged.

I just talked to my Ford service guy and he is ordering mine. This dealer lets me wait on the car and even watch them do it. It would be nice to have them come out to my house though. My airbag cover is signed by Carroll Shelby so they are going to have their trim guy take it off to be sure they don’t damage it. I’ve heard some horror stories about it getting damaged. Also just for fyi, I’ve heard that some said they flashed the pcm. This is not necessary so be sure they don’t do this when you have yours replaced.

You really have to be careful about the flashing. When your car goes into service the tech runs the VIN to see if there are any updates showing in the system. If there are, they hit the update button and charge Ford for the warranty work to update. Then, they do the air bag. I've had this happen on a truck and I was very upset. You really have to watch them on this stuff.

I just scheduled mine for May 3rd. She said she would go ahead and order the replacement airbag so they can do that when they change my oil and coolant. Hopefully the weather cooperates.

You're going to save Ford a ton of money when you do that!
