If you didn’t have an R, I would say go for it. Considering what you have, it would have to be a CFTP car. Even that would be a tuff sell for me since you have an HE R.
In the long run, the R’s will out pace the base 500’s in value and desirability. Yours will out pace them all. It’s a keeper.

I bought my 350 first and loved the car. Driving the 500 I knew I had to have it so I bought it. I entirely planned on keeping both but after several months of never driving the 350 I made the decision to sell. No regrets and they are both amazing cars in their own rights.

If you are able to do so, get both. They are both unique in their own rights and are likely the last of their kinds.
I notice in both the profile pic and in this one that the 350 is on top. Mine was the same way indicating that I wanted the 500 to be easier to access. Playing musical cars to go for a joy ride may seem like first world problems but the struggle is real.

I usually rotate them once a month as I enjoy driving them both. both cars are rewarding to drive and this will likely be that last chance to buy cars like this new.

If you like having a slow car with a glass engine choose the R. If you like bending the fabric of space time and traveling through wormholes, GT500.
2.65 pulley and E85 will go 9’s
Glass Engine? Sure there have been some oil consumption issues with some cars, but the reports of failures are always the ones that get posted and not the ones of people who have had no issues at all. Plenty of GT350's making 800whp with turbos and blowers.

If you decide to sell that 350R post it here. Never drove a 350R but what you have is rare(r) and IMO I'd keep that. Of course if you do go with the GT500 it's a blast to drive, love mine! Spring and no snow / salt can't come soon enough. The window for a "new" one of this run is closing but there's still some out there so I understand the position you are in. There will always be some slightly "used" ones and depending on our market and economy ya never know, people could unload one at a great price.
Shame it's winter and you can't find one to ride in to help with that decision. Having both would be an awesome option but that's harder to justify for some of us.

Ok so the 350R is rigid, direct, and sure footed. It will turn so hard your eyes won’t work. The 500 suspension is more like a standard 350 with mag ride in its softness and lack of rigidity. The 500 will turn at the track and the mfr pulls so hard when on the gas that soft suspension is necessary to maintain traction. You don’t steer this rig, you point it. View attachment 263016
I think there’s a difference between the 500 base suspension setup and the 500 CFTP. I definitely would not call my 500 CFTP softer than my R’s suspension. One thing that is definitely is improved is the lack of tramlining.

I’m sure you already got your answer but since I did own both this is my perspective. If the GT350R is used as an occasional driver and You replaced it with the new GT500 and that too was a occasional driver keep the GT350R

If you currently use your GT350R more, than the newer, better equipped GT500 may take a step forward

Hard choice for sure.

Final 350R (2020) got the upgraded suspension. Base 350’s did not. Their update occurred in 2019 and it did not have the upgraded knuckle that was being developed for the 500. His 350R has the upgrade as it is an 2020 so it did not suffer from tramlining—mine was a 2018 and was like a gigantic untamed dog when on uneven roads.

Not that my opinion matters, as I've never own a GT350R or any other GT350, But I did ride in a 2017 GT350R it was fun, but it was around 7.5 million pesos or 150K and it was already 2 years old this was in 2019, right after I bought my GT Mustang, I wouldn't even consider paying that much for a GT350R, I had no issue paying nearly the same for my GT500.

I don't say it on here, If I was in the states, I am planning on at least 3 maybe 4 performance cars, CFTP GT500, a Dodge Hellcat Redeye, no sure after that, but I definitely, could see getting a GT350R.

So if you can afford both, have the room, I'd do that.

Good luck

Spent the entire weekend coaching a GT350 student at Circuit Of The Americas in Austin. Fun car at the track. My student progressed nicely and had a blast doing so. At the end of day one, I put him in the right seat of the CFTP and went full send. The difference at that big track was night and day. His car is not an R, so there were differences in the ride and a massive difference in the power. Having said that, I enjoyed the 350. It would be a fun cruiser. For the track though, I prefer the big gun.

Awesome for your student Tim, happy for him.

I agree, The big Badass 500, or as you said, Big Gun;)
