F LG...get your car paint corrected and ceramic coated...will save you gobs of money and time in the long run. then get rid of your waxes and polishes and all those rags. i just gave you tons of life back! haha

seriously, best thing i ever did to all my cars. now i just wash (much less frequently), dry and drive. better than any wax and polish i ever used too. i used to be a LG guy, but no more.

I just woke up to the fact that Liquid Glass is no longer available... anywhere. A thread on the F150Forums broke the news to me today. I have been using this product exclusively on the 14 since Sept. 2013, with 54 coats to date. Maybe I should have paid more attention, but when you're not...

Both Liqui Tech Finish First Auto Polish and MPT Classic Polish/Finish make claims that they have people on their staff that used to be with Liquid Glass. Both also sound like they are touted to perform like LG. So what's the difference? Some have said that the MPT product is more concentrated, but that's hard to tell when I read the reviews of users. Interestingly the Liqui Tech is sold in a container that closely resembles the LG container and graphics.

I wouldn't sell my 'stash' for that !
The stuff was made from Teen Virgin Female Unicorns Hoofs and Blue Baby rabbit tears by Zeus himself, and he got upset that mere mortals were using it when it was to be for his Chariot use only, so he stopped making it.... true Story !

I think our retirement funds are doing OK, we invested heavily into those little hangers that socks come on and septic tank seals. (we diversified)

 

Having read all the threads on this in the past, thought I should share......
Getting the cars ready for spring, on a whim, I did a search today for Liquid Glass.
Found one of my vendors showed up in the search.
Logged in to my commercial account and the part number showed as active, but required a call for availability.
Called my commercial sales rep, and she says "yea, I can have it tomorrow".
WOW!!!!
Said "order me one please, wait, make it two!
Below is a picture of what I received.
Been using it since 1987, looks to be correct down to the part number on the can.
Will know for sure when I open it to use it Saturday.
Called her to thank her today, and she said she can get more, and had ordered one an extra for stock.

SO Glad I got my 'stash' (4) before the gouging began !

 

Yea, it has gone up, but happy enough with past experience with the product to pay a little extra.

This is the stuff that's supposed to bring back faded plastics to the original shine correct?
If so, I hate to say it but I'll gladly pay $36 for it LOL. The fading plastics look horrible

 

Welcome to the forum! I haven’t tried to bring back faded plastic with LG, but it is damn good stuff. It is worth a try. I ordered a couple cans as well... my supply was getting low.

Liquid Glass is actually still on the market, technically. MPT Industries who formerly manufactured the product are back at it again.

You'll notice that the label on the reverse of the bottle specifically lists MPT Industries. Plus the Contact information on the bottom of the website is the same as MPT Industries. But a pleasure to see a classic product still available and in production. I guess MPT saw the demand and redistributed the product. Which appears to be the closest you can get to the original. But the website doesn't automatically show up in web searches. Since the Liquid Glass products directly compete with MPT's own line.

That being said, I reached out to MPT Industries directly for further details. Asking about "MPT Classic Polish (MPT142)" vs "Liquid Glass Polish/Finish". With a reply stating:

Although the formula is similar to MPT Classic, it is different. I believe you will find MPT Classic to be more durable.

Having used MPT Classic Polish for the first time last year. It has now been a full year since applying 6 coats on my vehicle. And honestly, the water still beads, lightly. Although not the same as the initial application, but it beads, and the shine is definitely there.
On top of that, I found some orange dots after cleaning the vehicle, likely from road construction. So I used some Finish First Pre-Cleaner I had lying around and they wiped off fairly easily. Which is impressive, since the Finish First Pre-Cleaner is not a very aggressive product as some other products on the market.

Hopefully someone finds this information useful.
