Installing lots of stuff on my 21 GT500. Mods are ported blower, VMP Apex Predator Lid, 95mm Street Intercooler Brick, 2.7 pulley, billet water manifold, Predator Claw Tensioner bracket, Kong 108mm throttle body, ID1050x injectors, JLT Intake, HP RTD with VMP tuning. I’ll be posting pictures as I go.

So far, everything is torn down, and I’m waiting on a big package from VMP tomorrow.

Do you carry insurance for the track or just risk it?
I don't think they even offer it at Clark, we all must sign a wavier at there sponsored events. So I guess I am just Risking it.

I do sometimes worry though. I have gone 5 times, 1 was where I rented the track for the day, which is nice as there are less cars out there, the other 4 were sponsored events, but the Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches and other high end cars are out there which is really cool as I don't get to see a lot of Performance cars here in Subic.

I do envy you all as you have stuff happening a lot in the USA.

The track day insurance I’ve looked into is third party. Here are a couple of the big names I found when I was researching this, HPDE Insurance Coverage | from Lockton Motorsports , Track Day Insurance for High-Performance Vehicles | Hagerty. Cost depends on the value of the car. I checked it at $100k, and it was close to $600 US for a single event. Add that on top of tires, fuel, brakes, track fees, helmet, HANS, roll cage, harnesses, etc., and it gets really hard to justify for me.

It wouldn’t ruin me to lose this car, but it would be a big hit for sure. I just don’t think I can stomach the risk without insurance.

Really cool you’ve got yours out on the track Thomas. Someday I’ll have to get mine out there. The track day insurance is just so ridiculously expensive, though. I checked into it, and it’s like $600 per event! At that price, it would have to be a once in a while thing. Do you carry insurance for the track or just risk it?

I looked into track insurance for my 1st event and had sticker shock as well. I skipped it and have never had it. There are also annual policies that cover multiple tracks.

I will have to ask, but its possible my regular insurance could cover my car here at the track, it has Act of God in the policy I don't know if you all have that written into the policy. I pay a lot more for insurance a year I believe too, I paid about $3200.00 last year Just for the Mistress, Another $700.00 a year for my 25 year old Landcruiser. But would need to ask to know for sure if I am covered at the track, as Like you Chad I can't afford to lose over 100K, for me its actually 141K plus another 10K in Carbon Fiber and shipping and customs.

I see these people here tracking $600K cars I doubt they have track insurance The first time I went to Clark about a week after I got the Mistress, I didn't track that day as the car still needed breaking in and I had no helmet yet, there were Ford GT's out there and those sell over here for 1.4 Million USD and they were screaming around the track

Been awhile since I looked at these pictures there were a lot of cool ass cars out there that day. The Mistress had maybe 150 miles on her then Looks much different today;)

I don’t know anything about insurance in the Philippines, so I guess it’s possible they might cover the track, but my guess is it’s just like every policy I’ve ever had in the US, and there’s a statement somewhere in the fine print specifically excluding coverage for any kind of high performance driving event or competitive driving.

Very cool group at the track. There must be some serious bucks out there. I’ve seen the occasional GT at Car and Coffee, but they’re generally polished with a diaper and don’t come out until the next show. I’ve never even seen one on the road. I bet the guys who can afford to run those on the track would miss 1.4 mill a lot less than I’d miss 100k, though. Lol

At my recent Road America track day event, there were a bunch of GT500s. Two guys were in the advanced group that shouldn’t have been. They both had very little experience. They both hit walls. The cars were in rough shape.

I was behind one of the mishaps… captured it all on video. Won’t be sharing it.

How did they get into the advanced group Tim, here Its not separated by driver level, I am with the Supercar class as its done here by what car you are driving. I am out there with Lambos, Ferrari's and McLarens ETC, most of those drivers are much more experienced then me. When they get behind me, I let them pass and stay within MY Capability's.

But in the U.S don't they make sure drivers who are less experienced can't be with Advance drivers?

Last track event here this guy wrecked it was a rainy day, I actually didn't go as I found out the night before, glad I missed it as with the rain and crashes like this guy experienced, the track was closed most of the day.

Track day levels should have nothing to do with the car and everything to do with the driver… their experience and their ability to keep pace and not hold up faster traffic
I agree Tim, I was so confused the first event I went to as the the guy ask me what level I am I said beginner, he said your car is supercar level and made me get out of line and run with the next group which was all the high end cars, now Some of those drivers are instructor level, they have some are beginners. My friend Angelo then explained to me and sure enough that is how they do it here.

I let the faster cars pass, as I try to keep up with them, staying within my capability's

What did you guys do about the small notch at the 6 o’clock from the stock throttle body oring? I don’t believe the new throttle and larger oring address this.

I believe they machined the nose of throttle body attachment area back past where the notch is because my ported blower didn’t have the notch anymore. The Kong throttle body has a small oring groove machined in it with a supplied black oring, and it sealed perfectly on my ported blower. I’m assuming you leave the factory green oring in place to seal the notch if you have a stock blower. When I ordered my Kong I called them. They said it would work with the factory blower and to use some RTV or anaerobic gasket maker if there were any sealing issues.
