Can u put a comfort seat in a cftp and have all the functions work? if so is anything else needed besides the seat?

I moved ya over to the non performance mods section.

I believe this has been discussed and the final word was the wiring harness for powered seats etc is not in the CFTP cars. Hopefully the member who discovered it will chime in and confirm it.

Now I am sure you could add the power harness, switch panel relays, PCM, from another Mustang to make everything work if you wanted to dive into it that far.

Or look at installing an after market bracket so the comfort seat can at least slide back and fourth.

I think it would be possible to retrofit the comfort seats and have everything function, but it would be pretty difficult unless you had a parts car to get all the harnesses, buttons, relays, etc. You would need to program multiple modules with as built data from a car with the comfort seats. I’m guessing you’d have to program the APIM and BCM at a minimum. I’d look in the 6g forum. You would be much more likely to find someone who has converted to comfort seats from recaros in a GT, and the process should be pretty much the same other than possibly different as built data in the GT500.

If you're good at electrical work, I would imagine you could figure out how to power the seat so it would at least move, although the heated/cooled functions would most likely be much more difficult to enable.

Would need to find the wiring diagram for the seats, which may not be readily available.

I agree. It’s going to be a lot of work to figure this out unless somebody has already done it. There are tons of support components to make the climate controlled seats function. Unless somebody has figured this out already, it would probably be much simpler to just bring power and ground wires into the car for the seat motors and install aftermarket heating and cooling units like the Katskinz ones in place of the factory stuff.

If you have some fabrication skills, I sure it would not be hard to get these to work.

One issue with the heated/cooled function; it's possible that the connection in the harness is something like a 5v signal, and not a 12v power wire. Just knowing which wires to connect may not tell the whole story.

Everything is almost certainly controlled through the CANBUS. I have a lot of experience with adding stuff to 15+ F series trucks, and all the accessories are controlled with a digitized signal. The buttons and switches just signal the BCM, APIM, etc, and the modules send a CAN signal to the other modules like the seat control modules, door control modules, heated steering wheel control module, etc. You need all the harnesses, all the buttons, modules, etc, and they all need to be programmed to talk to each other. Plus the car needs to know they are present so it knows to pass the messages down the line. It’s pretty involved adding stuff to modern Fords they didn’t originally come with, but it is possible.

You didn't say why the change. If it's because you don't fit in them, you might reach out to Recaro and see what sort of replacement seat you can purchase in the aftermarket. If the electronics aren't there to support the base seats, I would not attempt it. Or you could buy a base car, transfer the other CFTP parts, less the seats, and take a hit on the resale of your car.

Recaro has a division for that.

These are pretty nice and still have the support with more generous driver proportions.

You can get them here.
