Any advice on how to overcome bogging or wheelspin to achieve proper acceleration would be greatly appreciated. Running Toyo R888R Drag mode?
thanks in advance

With a dual clutch there's only so much under your control. Drag mode, cleanest/'stickiest surface you can find, then adjust RPM and tire pressure to suit. What RPM and tire pressure are you using now?

THIS!

You have the car and the tire for a good launch… now you need a good surface. A sticky drag strip is by far the best. I’d put concrete as #2, good asphalt as #3, worn grey asphalt as #4 and so on…

Select Drag Mode with auto shifting (unless your rev limiter is raised in your tune). Keep your steering wheel top dead center. Use launch control and stand on the go pedal. If the engine bogs, play with the RPMs first down and if that didn’t solve it, try a higher setting.

i've been experimenting as well... not great areas around here to test out....

if i set too high, i spin/ traction control kicks in and i bog, garbage launch. if i set to low, it just bogs by itself. IDEALLY you would launch with no TC of course but i dont think launch control works with no TC does it? if so, i imagine you'd spin bad

i'm using stock tire pressure when testing out..... and i'm hitting a 3.8 0-60, best i can do so far

Steeda sells parts that will help lock down the IRS so you can improve launching and be a bit more stable in corners.

Concrete (freeway/frontage road) will give the best traction by a long shot. Next up would be fresh/clean black asphalt. Next would be old worn grey asphalt… then old grey dusty/dirty asphalt.

I have just been to the local drag strip a few times. This is the third weekend. I am finding my car to bog down as well. Am running MT ET Street S/S. I was running those just on the back but was getting a light on the dash. I put same on the front and no more light. I am also finding that whether I use LC or not my car hesitates after I release the brake. The hesitation is long enough people notice and ask about it. Has anyone experienced this as well? The local track is maybe not the best surface - not like it was in Charlotte. Am running 11.3 / 11.4 and about 125 mph. Have installed JLT Cold Air Intake.

Hello Welcome aboard the forum. Launching the GT500 takes a bit of practice and patience. You’ll need to try several setting changes and see which one gives you the best launch. Me personally I just absolutely mash the right pedal which is a bit different than most.

Please click your upper right avatar/account settings/vehicle details and enter your car year. It then shows under your screen name, which helps in conversations here. We cover multiple years of the GT500 on this forum. (Remember to click Save)

Also, we encourage everyone to put their first name in their signature to make this place more friendly (click your upper right avatar to get there)(You’ll need to save this as well) Let us know if you have any forum questions.

i set my rpm to about 1200 and have gotten 3.4s 0-60 on street and stock air pressure on CUP2s. needs a good piece of pavement and warm tires. i feel when i mash the throttle it slides more then with a roll on. even Ford performance driving school recommended the lowest rpm possible as higher RPM will cause that initial spin to be more exaggerrated

how accurate is the in car timer?
