Doubtful it left the factory like that. Are you sure it wasn't a poser? I don't know why you couldn't put GT or V-6 brakes on a Shelby. Are you basing this on the fact they didn't say Brembo, or were you sure it had the single pot calipers. The Brembo logo is just a sticker.

 

I know what brembo brakes look like compared to normal brakes. Im pretty sure it was a gt mustang. But it had all the stuff off a gt500 on it. Sounded a little less beefy though. Probably a poser.

 

Funny on my '09 the word Brembo and logo is painted on and is NOT a sticker. I would imagine the '07 & '08 to be the same. These calipers can reach 1000° under race conditions and repeated hard stops. Stickers would never hold up.

 

I doubt calipers get to 1000 degrees. Rotors: yes… calipers: no.

 

The hardest thing to fake is the front end with the GT500 specific headlights as they're not readily available. Plenty of fakers, but I've only seen a handful that have committed the thousands to make the full front end swap to make things look correct up there on the 05-09 cars. Faking a GT500 got a lot easier with the 2010+ cars.
