In my case I just went to a different pump and had no more problem. Its only done it one time. I read something about having to replace the gas tank, but that seemed a little off.

 

Mt GT has done that to me a few times, but never happened in my Shelby. It is a fairly common issue though, something with the fuel vapor emissions crap... blah blah blah. (You can see how interested I am in fixing the issue on my GT by the in depth description of the problem lol)

Do a quick google search and I am sure you will find a buch of posts on different forums. I think there was even a TSB from Ford about it.

 

Next time you're at the pump, take the handle and invert it, or to the side a bit. That usually works for me.

 

The problem is the exhaust has melted the vent line.

 

HEATED exhaust.. melting a FUEL vent line? Not good... Should be a safety recall, not a TSB

 

This problem occurs for me almost every time I fill er up. I pull the gas nozzle out an inch or two, invariably, this takes care of the problem. I question whether "exhaust" ( wink wink ) is the reason, it's done this since the day she was new.

 

This problem has been posted before but I'm too lazy to look it up, just like Goose17 said. And he is too busy to look it up as he is trying to get ready to leave for Shelby Fest.

When your pumping the gas hold down the trigger only half way, don't go WOT with it and that seems to do the trick for me

 

I haven't had any issues with my 12' yet. Can go full pump, all the way in.... wait... whut??
