Trailer eTrack and car tires… recess or not?

I am getting all my e-trac layed out for my trailer and got to wondering if it is ok to have the tire right on top without recessing, will it the tires to sit on the e-trac strapped down?

My first thought is that it should not a big deal since these tires can run around on the streets strips and tracks and take a ton of abuse, then I thought well they are pretty expensive too so I do not want to shorten their life either.

Recessing or routering a channel will also leave less remaining material for the fasteners to bite.

Reason number 4 billion I lie awake at night. 🤣

Planning to use these style set up to get the racket out from under the car.

I moved your post to the general section and changed the title Bob.

Both of my trailers have eTrack sitting up on top of the surface. I have hauled my cars and ratcheted down the tires FIRMLY without issue many, many times. No need to overthink this. The tires will be just fine.

Also worth mentioning… get the car in the trailer and tighten down all 4 straps… after driving a handful of miles, pull over and retighten the straps. Once you do that, the straps are good to go. I do recheck when I stop for bathroom breaks or fuel, but all is usually well for the rest of the journey. If I stop overnight, I loosen the straps so they aren’t sitting all night under load. I retighten in the morning again.
Thanks Tim, this is about what I was thinking or overthinking. We always used the axel straps on the Fox body and the the K member had loops for the front. With as low as these cars sit and wanting to do as little crawling around I like this method for the SHelby for sure. This way if yo get on a bad stretch of road the suspension is less likely to help loosen things up. 👍🏻🏁
