Hey everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself and share a pretty wild story—I’m the guy who won the 2020 GT500 “Venom” that was raffled off by Ford and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
I bought two $10 tickets, just figuring it was a good cause… and somehow ended up being the winner out of 75,000 entries.
This isn’t just any GT500—it’s VIN #020, the 20th off the production line for 2020. It’s finished in the one-off Venom metallic clearcoat with black painted over-the-top stripes. The car was a Golden Ticket build, so it also came equipped with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack.
I flew out to Detroit where Edsel Ford II and the Ford Performance team personally presented the car to me—an absolutely unforgettable experience.
There’s also a detail most people might not know about: on the passenger side dash plaque that shows the production number, mine starts with “CS,” standing for Carroll Shelby. At Ford HQ, they told me only the first 30 production GT500s have that CS prefix. That little touch just makes it feel even more legendary.
To top it all off, the car is personally signed by Edsel Ford II—both under the hood and inside the glove box.
I’m still wrapping my head around the whole thing five years later. Grateful doesn’t even begin to describe it. Looking forward to being part of this community and connecting with others who share the same passion for these cars.
Let me know if anyone else remembers this raffle or was part of it—would love to hear your take on the car!
