Injector Size on 2013 GT500

Does anyone know what size fuel injectors Ford is using in the 2013 650 HP GT500? I have searched the web up and down and can't find that level of detail on the engine yet. I am also trying to find out the difference in the fuel pump flow rate for the 2013 in comparison with 2007 - 2012 GT500s. Does anyone know the answers? I would think that the 2013's fuel pump must have a higher capacity also. Thanks.

most I have seen is what caranddriver wrote in one of their articles..

"While punching out the 5.4-liter aluminum-block V-8 out to 5.8 liters, the GT500’s powertrain crew also updated the heads for better cooling, changed the camshaft profiles, added piston squirters and higher-flow fuel injectors, swapped the old supercharger for a larger and more efficient TVS unit that ups boost from 9 to 15 psi, and fitted a larger intercooler."

high'ER flow.. who knows how high lol...

I am trying to determine what parts can be used on an earlier GT500. For example, Injector Dynamics' 72 pound injectors did not work out on my car. I am wondering if the 2013's injectors will flow enough to feed my 2.9 Whipple.

Your current injectors are enough to feed a 2.9L Whipple, at least Ford Racing feels so. I still have the stock injectors, and they still go pleanty rich at the rev limit. How much HP are you wanting to make out of it?

Stock injectors are good for 18 lbs of boost and 775 HP with a BAP.

They're good for more than that with proper tuning and cooling! ;) And I don't have a BAP. I do have the Cobrajet fuel pump, though.

I am running 18 - 19 pounds of boost with my Whipple 2.9. The stock injectors start runnin lean at about 5500 RPM, which currently limits my RWHP to 670 and RWT to 632. With either larger injectors (72 pound that I had in it) (or a higher flow fuel pump) it made 680 RWHP and 653 RWT. My tuner does not want to put a booster pump on it because he indicated that they can fail and if the booster pump fail, there goes the engine. Mine is 800 HP at the crank with enough fuel and a conservative tune.

I have never heard of One bad Kenne Bell BAP. Others ?? Try the 60# injectors and move past 700 RWHP with conservative tune

GT Premi, how does the Cobra Jet fuel pump compare to the stock 2009 GT 500 fuel pump in terms of flow capacity? I guess I had not considered the Cobra Jet pump because of the lame HP number for the Cobra Jet, but I've heard that in reality the CJ is well north of 600 HP instead of the 435 or so advertised.

I don't have any flow data. I did a lot of research before selecting the FRPP kit for my car. One of the things that caught my attention was their reason for using the CJ fuel pump. They say it has plenty of flow to reliably feed the engine at 750HP with the stock injectors.

From what I know the stock injectors and BAP work well kenne bell does not recommend changing injectors. Evolution & John Lund will be tuning my car tomorrow. When the do the map and dyno I will have concrete information for everyone
Evolution didn't recommend upgrading the injectors even after I said I wanted to put in 72's
Will keep everyone posted, I will keep the tune safe so ill probably be around 750 on pump gas.

Ok ladies, just got back from Evolution and the tuning is all done. Final numbers:
775 HP 700 Torque. Stock injectors.shut her down @ 6100 RPM. Mapped the car and everything was Sweeeeet.
Lund said the engine seemed very happy per the data.

While I was there I also lowered the car and added some rear end goodies to help me hook up.

I'm very happy, now I can put her away for the winter and in the spring she will give me a nice Boner!

Evolution finished my tune. John Lund said the car was very happy with the stock injectors & BAP.
Car cranked out some good numbers.

That's RWHP, using 93 pump gas. @ 6100 rpm
Keeping it safe.
