I wanted to try both of these products, so I applied the Darkside to my Raptor tires, which was more work than I anticipate, especially prepping and scrubbing the tires, and getting all the product into the nooks and crannies.
the Blackout, which is suppose to last much longer than the Darkside was easier to apply, probably because I applied it to the GT 500 with less tire surface and smoother. I like both products, but prefer the darkside. To me, the darkside gave me the shinier look I was after whereas with the blackout, I had to apply three coats.
most of the work is in the tire prep, scrubbing the tires with CarPros Retye to get them as clean as possible which is the key to a successful application of the product I also used high powered washer on the tires.
the Blackout is pricey but the product goes along way. Both products, when fully cured, are dry to the touch. Will Save me a lot of time not having to apply a product every time I wash the car for at least 4 to 6 months.
