Hey team - I am looking for a radar detector here. I have read a lot of great reviews on the "ESCORT Redline 360c".

Would love some insight on the topic. Thank you!

All the best,

My 21 came with this. I'm told it's some ridiculous price, like 4 grand.
I like my 30 year old Valentine better.

EDIT.......... $3600 I guess

In it's defense I guess, it can supposedly jam even variable pulse laser guns (most laser jammers can't). But my feeling with a car like this. if you get pulled over, you are probably getting a ticket, jammed laser or not. :) (unless you have a "family" member "get out jail free" card in your pocket)

@OX1 - I found one custom install of the Max-ci-360 online for $2000. And another for $3900! I’ll stick with my ESCORT Redline 360c. This custom install one is fancier than some of the Viet Nam era Electronic Countermeasres gear we had in VN war planes like the USN’s A-4s, F-4s, and A-6s.

Friends don’t let friends buy Escorts. I would recommend taking a look at Uniden. Also a radar detector is only half the battle, and it depends on your area and the threats you face. There’s a forum for all things counter measures if you look (RDF).

I own several of these Uniden R3’s, they are amazing.

If you just want something that works with very little fuss and has the great range, the Uniden R3 would be my recommendation, and the R8 if you have the budget. That one gives you direction arrows and better sensitivity. The Valentine one Gen 2 is arguably the best detector ever made. I own 3 of them myself and probably wouldn’t have a driver’s license without them, but V1 doesn’t natively support GPS lockouts, so it can be pretty chatty with K band falsing unless you pair it with the JbV1 android app or V1 Driver for iOS.

lol I was gonna say “talk to @HVCalTech” but he’s already responded.

Check out Vortex Radar on YouTube. That guy is probably the most knowledgeable ‘Tuber out there when it comes to detectors, dash cams, etc. as he does extensive testing with real world results. He lists all the pros and cons of each model and what type of buyer is best for each one.
