Got the Revan HE installed yesterday and decided to upgrade all the hoses at the same time .... Great install by Chris at Peformance Autosport here in Richmond on the HE -- very clean and excellent work on the electrical splices. Did a great job on the hoses also ....

Might not be liked by everyone (anyone?) but I wanted something unique and I think i got it.... :)

Now if FRPP would just ship me the FR3 suspension set then I can get it, the UCA, LCA and Panhard bar installed and finish the mods (for a while anyway)....

Finish the mods. yea right. I don't even bother saying that any more because it only leads to my wife going wtf??? when UPS drops of a box.

As for the hoses, it does look unique.

Thats looks awesome! Who makes the hoses Samco?? And what color are they? White?? And how much $$ for how many hoses? I've been interested in doing something like that!!

Rene .. thanks, and yes they are Samco and they are a bright shiny white. About $900 for the full set (I think it was about 15 hoses) and it took about 4 hours for the complete install.

I dig them. But I'm biased
Zporta, blue was my second choice as I really think they pop.... they are just a slightly different shade of blue that my engine parts and not quite the same as my grabber blue stripe ... thus the choice of white ...

Do really like the looks of yours however....

Looks great Mike... you too Zporta!

......Motor area looks great, But I gotta ask:
I understand the 2010 & earlier GT 500's have heat soak issues & " require " a HE upgrade for any serious motor mods. For 2011, the HE is 40 % more efficient, (according to Ford ). Svt told me I wouldn't need to upgrade my HE, unless I went larger than a 2.9 blower. Also notice that a HE is not part of the " basic " 750 hp Super Snake pkg. marketed by Shelby @ nearly 30K. ( one is available as an option ) Presume that your future mods include a blower upgrade 3.4 or larger & that's why you installed the Raven unit ??
I think you already stated that you don't intend to drag race the car.
1 Alibi, yes it is also my understanding that the HE is larger in the 2011's and that this might not have been a "required" upgrade. I live in the Richmond VA area and our summers get mighty warm and humid and the performance shop I am working with felt that while the 2011 would be better than previous years, it would be even better with the Revan unit (bigger yet and fans). And since a local buddy (dmwphoto) was going to buy a unit also (he is planning on running his at the drags) Van gave us a really good price on two units shipped to the same installer. So it was kinda hard to pass up .... and now if I want to add a blower upgrade I am all set.......:thinkerg:

Looks good.. wondering what the Raven Heat exchanger looks like though?? and price on the unit. only one I have checked out is the afco unit..
Sa-when, can't really see much of the HE from outside the car .... at a low angle from the front you can see the "C&R" logo but you have to know what you are looking for. I went with the Raven due to the very informative post by Van on a number of boards ... he really seems to know what he is talking about .... very nicely manufactured unit so I am glad that I did...... As I mentioned above -- we got a good price by buying two units so I am not sure what one would be --- probably $700-750 or so plus shipping ???

40% more efficient than "way inefficient" is still inefficient in my book...

I drive my car almost daily, and that means on 95 degree days, in traffic, etc... It gets MIGHTY hot, and if you run it hard for 15-20 min, the engine will definitely heat-soak, whether you have a 2010, 2011 or later. When the car is "cold" it makes the absolute most power, 15 minutes later, its less... plain and simple.
I'm installing the dual-fan Shelby H/E because I want my car to be at peak (no pulling of timing) at all times. Lowering your AIT temps is the single best way (other than Meth injection) to keep your power at peak regardless of temp.
I'm also planning to change out the pulley to the VMP 2.59, and that will spin the S/C faster, creating even MORE heat.
My belief is that the BEST, FIRST mod you can do to these cars is to cool them better. I'm sure most on here will agree...
On the Super Snake, its not "required" to upgrade the H/E, which is why its an "option". But lord knows, if you're gonna push 750-800HP, it should be mandatory.

So MikeVA your Raven HE didnt say Shelby in the front?

Nope, it is the same unit with different logo .... it was a quite a bit more just to get the Shelby licensed product and it just wasn't worth it to me to pay that much for a logo ... I have already moved away from the Shelby-only approach with some added FRPP wheels, and will be adding a number of FRPP suspension parts and just did not feel the need to have the HE say Shelby....

Uh, I'll pass on this one. You mentioned $900 for the set. Now I will really pass on this one. JMO. If I was to go this route braided lines would be my first choice. One of our members did that some time ago and I think it looked sweet. Shorten the hose to the resovior as it is out of alignment.

This was my second choice - steel braided hoses. However i havent been able to find a picture anywhere. If anyone has a pic or can find it, it would certainly be appreciated if they were to post it!!

thanks ..... and the hose that is out of alignment (so to speak) is the one running to the radiator degas bottle (the one on the left in the photo) .... however, if I shorten the hose to make the run look square then the the bend gets pinched just a little bit where it changes from running to the front over to the bottle ... not a big pinch but changes it from about 90 to 100-105 degree bend ... have not decided if this pinch is a big deal or not and thus trying to decide whether I want it to look "right" or flow "right" ..... hoses were set up for the original bottles so I don't have a problem with what they did to make the hoses ... just need to decide what I am most comfortable with......

and the braided hoses sound cool ....

There is a picture some where on this forum. I forget the member's name but he was at the gathering for the niche plant tour back in 07. Maybe bj can chime in as his memory is probably better than mine. He did an excellent job and had all the specs on fitting and hose sizes.

Just came to me it was SN8KBYT. Drop him a pm and I am sure he will post the pics and parts information. They are on here some where.
