Sorta funny that my old van is REALLY a COBRA !!! 😮 View attachment 195406 View attachment 195405 😮
^^^^Yes, that kinda points out that just cause the letters "COBRA" on on the vehicle, doesn't mean it is a Cobra in the Mustang, Shelby, SVT sense of the title/word.................and on the flip side of that, if "COBRA" is not on the vehicle labeling anywhere (from it's manufacturer), then that also says a lot toward it not being labeled as a "COBRA" by the people who designed it, named it and built it.

Re: Your car is NOT a Cobra. Here's why:

They put the Shelby GT500 'Brand' Name on it name on it in 2007-2014, reason being Carrol & they (SVT) after building the 05/06 Ford GT (Not GT40) ha ha, using the Lincoln engine wanted to do a 'throwback' tribute to the original 67' GT500 when they wanted 'a bigger hammer' so they took the 390/428 truck engine & stuffed it into a Mustang. In late 2006 SVT took the Lincoln 5.4L 4 cam 32 Valve Navigator SUV (Truck) engine & 'stuffed it' into a Mustang GT chassis actually having to move out the upper front shock towers to accommodate the Lincoln engine as well as took a corner off the air box.

Yes, your Ford Mustang 'Cobra' Shelby GT500 has way too many titles due to the branding for marketing purposes but is in fact the Cobra Model for those years being a 'Brand' name for Ford SVT performance Mustangs for some time now.

Shelby did in fact assist in the input to design the new Mustang Cobras & I don't think he or anyone else cares what you call it. Remember 'performance was his business' Branding came later.

The same people who didn't label it, name it or build it "COBRA" are the same ones who loaded it up with tons of "COBRAS" all over the car. That also says a lot.

I agree, a symbol is a symbol and a name is a name.......That does say a lot, especially in the original sales information where the car is named.
