Wheel Wednesday! For my contribution today, here is something interesting... the 2020 brake rotors are bigger than the wheels themselves on the original Shelby GT500! (16.5” versus 15”)

Wheel Wednesday! For my contribution today, here is a gorgeous 2012 Boss 302 from the Mustang cruise I was part of this past Sunday in NY. I love the red accented wheels on this car!

An unfortunate thing happened... notice the big boulder to the right side of this picture... when we all pulled out to cruise together to Fort Niagara, the owner forgot about the big rock and couldn’t see it from the driver’s seat. He immediately turned right and hit the rock. His passenger side door suffered some pretty severe damage as the rock scraped down the side... it actually tore through the skin of the door. The owner was obviously quite upset with himself. I hopefully put his mind at ease a little by telling him he was actually not too badly off since the damage was contained on the door and did not spread to the fender areas. He could solve the problem by getting a replacement door from a salvage yard. If he is lucky, he will find a black Boss 302 that has frontal damage and can simply buy the passenger side door.

In any event, this car was stunning and those red accented wheels were fantastic!

Too bad about the damage. That car looks like the Laguna Seca version of the Boss 302. A limited number of them were made. They are the GT350R / GT500CFTP version of the Boss 302.

Got these covers from Don @shelbygt500_897hp They were in black so I painted them. Put three coats of 2k clear on them. Hopefully they hold up. If not easy enough to remove and repaint during the winter months.

Wheel Wednesday! Let’s see yours!

These are LMR 2000 Cobra R replica wheels with Nitto NT05 tires. I pulled my original wheels/tires at 900 miles to preserve them. The original tires were made specifically for the 00R and simply not available any longer. I removed them so I can have fun when driving the car and not worry about ruining the original tires.

Same rims as before but with out them my brake upgrade would have been only wishful thinking.
CS-14 Carroll Shelby rims, 20x9.5 in the front and 20x11 in the rear holding a massive 315x30x20 Toyo R888R's
Best yet, the new front brake upgrade; 19 bullitt 6 piston calipers and 15" rotors
