I went down to the Chevy dealer a few days ago to see if I could get an owner's manual for my 2018 Silverado that I just bought used.

A 2019 Yellow Z06 was sitting there that caught my eye. They had $88k on the sticker, the salesman told me they would do $10k off since they wanted to make room for the 2020's. I've always wanted a Vette, especially a Z06. I could probably get it for $75k. Not sure of which trim level it is. I know it has the 8-speed auto.
Since you only live once, I'm thinking of selling my '14 GT500 and buying the Vette.

What do you guys think a bone-stock car would bring? It has everything except the glass roof. DIB with White stripes. 21k miles.

It's in the shop getting the damage I did to it repaired from when I smacked the muffler into a curb. Nothing major, just crushed the exit pipes and the valance.

You only live once. If you have an itch for a Vette, go get it. As for Value for your 2014 Shelby... a private sale might fetch low 40s. A dealer will probably try to give you mid 30s for it on trade.

Mods bring little resale value. In fact, "virgin" specimens are usually more sought-after. I haven't monitored GT500 prices very closely because I have no intention of selling mine, but I'd guess yours is worth $40K-$45K, depending on options, condition, and location.

Having added a '19 C7Z to my garage several months ago, I know the car you're considering has about $7K in options, including the $1.7K A8 transmission. The remaining $5.3K could be a variety of things, but it's probably a 2LZ package ($3.6K). Another popular option that fits the remaining $1.7K is the Nav & PDR package. Getting it for mid-$70K range is a decent deal. Good luck!

Good luck w/ your decision. Funny, a local yellow Vette caught my eye as well, resulting in the sale of my 2011 GT500, though the Vette was a used 2013 Callaway Corvette.

How do you intend to use the vette? Reason I ask is that was a factor in my decision. I wanted the confidence of IRS on the Vette vs. the solid rear axle on the GT500 because I drive more of the twisties than I do drag racing. If you like straight line speed, your GT500 is the ticket. Of course, I'm speaking in extreme terms to make the point -- both are very capable cars, they are just different w/ pros and cons to each.

never warmed up to the c7.
c8.... tbd.

there is a 2013 427, (best of all c6 world imo) w Callaway treatment for 50k on autotrader.

Just traded in my 2011 for a 2019 Grand Sport. Opportunity presented itself and couldn't pass it up. Just in the process of finalizing shipping and hope to have it in a couple of weeks.

Gonna miss the Shelby but I'm hoping I can snag a new one or gently driven one in a couple of years.

Good luck with your decision.

I like to do track days and twisties with the Shelby, although I've spent quite a bit of time on the dragstrip, just not with the Shelby.
The Vette would likely see more canyon carving than anything.

The good news is we are heading into the prime sports car selling season. The economy is booming and the weather is warming. You might find a buyer willing to fork over $45k.

I'm with the rest of them ... trade for whatever your heart desires. I can't say much, as I traded my GT500 for a VAN ... (and have caught a lot of grief for it), but I have put 10,000 miles on the old van already and have enjoyed the freedom and travel time it has brought. So, things change in life and you need to "go with the flow" and get all the enjoyment you can, while you can. I've owned close to 100 vehicles in my short 65 years, so wheelin' & dealin' and going after what I want at the time has always been in my blood ... and now that I'm on the "downside of life", I look back and enjoy every vehicle I was allowed to enjoy. So, GO FOR IT !! ... you can always trade again in the future for another GT500 .. they'll always be around. :)

Can you give me the Cliffs notes on the three trims? I'm clueless.
