Likely causes:
1. A front wheel not properly balanced.
2. A front tire not properly seated on the wheel.
3. A front wheel that is bent.
Likely causes:Anyone else see steering wheel wobble if you take your hands off the wheel? Does not seem to be an alignment issue, drives straight. Perhaps more road feel with this vehicle? Live in PA roads are rarely smooth. Ironic part is it seems to go away at higher speeds, 70+.
Dealer does not have a road force balancer.
Discount Tire has all road force balancers now. I use them all the time.Anyone else see steering wheel wobble if you take your hands off the wheel? Actually, no joke, my does have a slight wobble also. I've just been ignoring it bc it's really slight, but I notice it. Has done it since I picked it up from the dealer. I notice it on really smooth roads too. So in Michigan, not so much, but we took the car to Indiana this past weekend and I noticed it more on their roads.Anyone else see steering wheel wobble if you take your hands off the wheel? Another thing to watch for... if a wheel requires quite a bit of weight to balance, deflate the tire and rotate it 180 degrees and try again. Sometimes the “heavy side” of the wheel and the “heavy side” of the tire line up requiring extensive counter weight. Thanks for the replies. Dealer I bought it from does seem interested to address the issue. For the price of these cars they should be willing to rebalance under warranty, issue since new.
He doesn’t have “CFTP” listed, but the GT500 doesn’t tram line like the GT350 does with the SC2s.Just spit balling here, but does pheagles have the Michelin Cup 2's on his car? These tires are known for their tramlining tendencies and I wonder if this anomaly is what he is describing rather than an out-of-balance issue?
Reviving an old thread….to see if the issue was resolved and what it was?Anyone else see steering wheel wobble if you take your hands off the wheel? Brian it seems in most cases if the car isn’t diving into the next lane it’s the roads. I’m in an area where the roads suck and my steering wheel wobbles on most of them. I’ve had the alignment checked. These cars have a very tight suspension and road wobble is a byproduct.Reviving an old thread….to see if the issue was resolved and what it was?
Mine has had a wobble from day 1. I would love to blame it on our absolutely shitty roads here in Indiana but unfortunately it’s been that way out of the gate! I would love to know why but have also lived with it.Actually, no joke, my does have a slight wobble also. I've just been ignoring it bc it's really slight, but I notice it.
