Congratulations to @GRBBR GT500 for being FordGT500’s October ‘18 ROTM! Here is his story and his amazing 2007!

The story begins in 2010. I had been living in FL for a couple years and decided to move back home to TX. At the time, I had a 1999 Mustang GT. I wanted an S197 and I found a 2005 Mustang GT. I thought new job... time to upgrade! I had that car about a year doing all the bolt on mods you can.

Fast foward to 2012. Finally got the Hot Rod cams and Kooks Headers for the 2005 Mustang GT and it sounded mean. I was set. Then one day I found my now 2007 GT500. At first I hated that color LOL. It sat on the lot a couple months. A local guy bought the car and I was like oh-well. I can get a GT500 one day. Well I started doing research and found out how rare that color actually is. I started thinking man, I should have bought it. Months go by and I forgot about it. Then one day I heard the guy was getting tired of making payments on a car he doesnt drive. HE BROUGHT IT BACK TO SELL ON CONSIGNMENT only 9 monthes later! I thought to myself, this is a second chance, this is my time. How often does this type of thing happen? Sooo... I worked as fast as I could to get it. I sold my 05 and signed papers that week!

Within 2 months of having it, I had the TSB clutch issue addressed. Luckily I bought it with a Certified Pre Owned Warranty so I was not out of pocket. After that and as a new GT500 owner, I joined this Forum looking for knowledge. I learned a lot and quickly started saving for mods. I was more into road racing and the stance look at first. I got Eibach Sportlines, SVE Drift wheels and a BMR adjustable sway bar. Loved that look! Next was exhaust and I went with Lethal H pipe and Flowmaster Hushpower.

With performance in mind, I got my Steeda supercharger pulley, Billet Pro Shop aux pulley, Metco valve breathers, JLT Intake, VMP ported elbow, port matched my supercharger to the inlet, Ford Super Cobrajet Monoblade throttle body and SCT 4 tuner. I then added 3.73 gears, Kooks 1-7/8 headers, 3 inch X pipe, full 3 inch Magnaflow Competion Exhaust and Steeda Short throw shifter. After all the mods, I had it recalibrated with a Lund Tune.

Apperance wise I got the Cervini B2 Chin Spoiler, Shelby dash plaque, sequential tail lights, hood struts, full radiator cover,
battery and brake cylinder covers and last but not least - antenna delete as well.

Finally It was set just the way I wanted it, or so I thought!

2018 present year, I decided I want to make it a drag car... changed to 4.10 gears, added SVE Drag Wheel and tire setup, BMR Drag Springs,
Stange Adjustable Front Struts, Viking Double Adjustable rear shocks, BMR Lower control arm brackets with Spherical Bearing Lower Control Arms, BMR Anti Roll Bar XSB012. The car hooks like crazy!

It wouldn't be a drag car with out being stupid loud so I dumped my exhaust at the X pipe with Kooks turn downs!

This my friends, is how she sits today!

Congrats on ROTM! I know what you mean about not loving the color. I felt the same way about my grabber blue. At first I was like meh! I had gone to look at a red one and the GB one was also on the lot. My husband, who never cares what I pick in cars or anything for that matter, just went crazy over the GB car. So, I decided to pick it over the red. Now I absolutely love it. Btw, I had a grabber orange Maverick years ago and I loved that car and the color! Your car is awesome! Your other two cars from the past are pretty special too!

Nice. Congrats.

One of the first GT500 "buddies" I made in the area was a Grabber Orange.

Black rims really look good.

@GRBBR GT500, congrats on ROTM! Love that you jumped all over that 2nd chance -- it was meant to be. :bigthumb:

Neat story of the cars. I love your GT! My first S197 was a 2005 Black with red interior GT convertible. Had the B2 chin spoiler, bullit grille, and lowered on 20’s. Similar to yours.
