Hey everyone. Newbie here with my first GT500. It’s an 07 and bone stock. My question is, why would someone tap in to the oss wire. It’s dark blue/yellow.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your 07! What is the “oss wire?”

Thanks. It’s the Output Soeed Sendor on the transmission.
Did you buy the car from an individual or from a reseller-dealer? Post some pics to include the engine bay so we can help you spot mods.

I know of no mod that requires you to do that, so that's pretty odd.

Was it tapped into or was the connector replaced?

I think I may have figured it out. The car has the shaker 1000 system in it but I noticed the speakers in the back and in the doors have been replaced. I’m thinking they had a navigation radio head unit in the car at one time. They use the speed sensor signal for the radio so that you had to be stopped to set an address.

I thought the Nav's used the GPS to determine speed, not the OSS?

Honestly not sure but it’s all I could come up with. It just made sense to me since the speakers were upgraded but there is no navigation unit. The wire appeared to go in that general direction. Of course it’s not actually hooked up to anything under the dash though.
