Who do you plan on tuning the car Bob? Hopefully it’s someone familiar with these cars. I would consult them when building your parts list.

Yes I have a tuner a mile from the dealership. It will be put on a trailer to get it there. Any thoughts on the maf. Also given that I am changing the balancer, what is the crank saver I have read about here. Is it a tool or a kit and where would I find one. Thx. Bob.

The MAF sensor does not need to be changed. You already have a CAI upgrade so you should be good there. As for a crank saver… haven’t messed with anything like that. For what it’s worth, the stock bottom end on these cars are quite robust until you start getting into the higher numbers. I have the 750 hp 2.9 Whipple kit on my 2011 with zero issues. I have driven the car like I stole it for the past 11 years. Fuel delivery and a proper tune are vital with these cars.

The crank saver that you’re referring to is likely the kinetik piece. It’s basically a 2000 series arp stud. Some claim it helps, others equate it to snake oil

There is another method of supporting the crank but it’s usually reserved for cars around the 1000hp mark.

A new factory bolt would serve you just as well. Having said that… I do have the kinetik stud going into my 07.

MAF upgrades haven't been a thing since the 94-95 5.0 cars and the old style computers. A 2.6 with a 10% lower will be a lot of boost so your tuner needs to be aware of that and you're going to need a great heat exchanger as you're going to be spinning the hell out of that factory H'Eaton blower.
