Totally different, but my Cayenne Turbo has red Brembo Calipers on a black car and I love the look of red on black. But now I'm seeing all these different color calipers and made me think... 🤔 lol. Looking at both of Chris's cars tho, you really can tell, even in a pic, the ceramic looks really awesome. I know this is another topic, but I'm debating on ceramic or PPF. Can't wait for the weather to turn in Chicago!

Ok I’ll settle it for you. Ceramic looks amazing BUT rocks will still chip it. PPF is not 100% guard against rocks but really close unless it’s a big one. IMO it’s better than ceramic. I did PPF gloss then do ceramic spray treatments at least monthly. Shines like nothing else.

That looks ridiculous! I've tried a couple of products from Griots(sp), and I like them, but obviously can't get that gleam and protection without ceramic and/or PPF. I've been under the impression that the paint has to be perfect before doing either, but then one watched some videos that say otherwise. Anyway, that car/paint looks sick! Black paint is always a little bit more challenging but you may have just made my decision for me... Lol.

I live in the desert and my GT350 was all black with PPF. When I traded it in for the 500 the Dealer was amazed at how good a 2016 all black car looked. I used XPEL Gloss 10 year self healing. Did exactly the same on my 500. The Griots ceramic with SiO2 is amazing. I can usually drive off most air settled dust for a couple weeks before using the ceramic speed shine as a gap filler between coats. Even after a rain storm this week I used the speed shine and it glossed right back up.

I just looked up that self healing technology, and that's crazy. Especially since you live in the desert. It's amazing all the tech that's come out even in the last 5 years. I've been outta the game for a bit cuz of work, family, etc., But I'm back!

And when I say cuz your live in the desert, I mean it sounds like it actually works better with more heat. I get that, but it still blows my mind that a product like that is available, but probably 90% of regular car owners have no idea. I mean, I'm pretty into cars. I was a mechanic outta highschool, but I haven't heard of that until today. Maybe I should get into marketing! 😁

The stuff is amazing! We have rocks on every damn freeway and they bounce off the hood on the regular. I’ve already got chips in my 2nd windshield and the hood is perfect. A pillars and roof are covered as well.

I'm sold! Now I just gotta find a place in Chicagoland area to do it. I've found a few places that do PPF or ceramic, but I def wanna make sure it's done right the first time. I'm also still looking for a good place to do a Dyno. I'm not sure what was done by the previous owner, so I'd like to know what I'm looking at.

Hey Vic - a few places based on others.
Bob (@BTZGT500) - used Brighton in Naperville - 2020+ - Picked up my Ride and Downshifting Question
I used Dynamic Detailing Chicago (Dillion) in Addison - Completed - PPF, Ceramic, and Tint
Another place I've heard does good work was Chicago Auto Pros.
Can't help with a Dyno though.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info! I'll check them out. The only one I already knew about from these is Chicago Auto Pros but I've heard mixed reviews. I watched some of their videos and sure looks like they do good work tho. Anyway, got a few options now. Thx again!

That GT with the Whipple must be fast AF and fun to drive. I can't even imagine that GT500 you just got. BTW, the ceramic is noticably awesome. I gotta get that done ASAP! I also like the red calipers, but would love to see how they look in yellow... At your expense. 😁 For real tho, my 2010 has stock calipers in black and I'm debating if I should go with red or something different?

Thanks! And, yes the GT with the whipple really moves. Such a blast to drive and being a 6-spd, the excitement from driving it is different than that of the GT500. Both are a lot of fun!

That car looks amazing!

I’ve debated getting PPF and eventually, I may end up getting it. I’m going to work on my paint chip correction skills this year (going to practice on the wife’s car first 😉). If I get to the point where fixing chips isn’t a pain and the correction is hardly noticeable then I’ll probably stick with just the ceramic but if not, I’ll go the PPF route.

Congrats on the eruption green!
Welcome to the forum. I’m just a few miles south of you in Marlton. See you at the Millstone car’s & coffee this summer?

Gotta come down to atco. I’m planning to have some fun in Millville too!

I’m a season pass holder for the Millstone C&C so you will definitely see me there!

I would def like to go to both atco and millville this year.

I’ve only been to millville once to watch some races. I was hoping they would have some beginner or intermediate lessons/track days there this season but so far I don’t see them available on their website. Have you raced that track yet?

April 30th will hopefully be my 1st visit to Millstone.

My only experience on Millvile's track has been two sessions with eXtreme eXperience in their GT500. I was able to hit 147 on the straight BUT with an instructor obviously. No other road track experience (yet!) One of their instructors does private lessons on that track & I'm hoping to set some up with him this season. Then look to do some HPDE sessions there. ATCO is a lot of fun & I've only done 2 runs just before the winter. Would have done more but wanted more miles on the car first & I was pretty damn happy with those initial runs.

You planning any mods? I've only done a few, but nothing to void warranty.

My 2013 GT is heavily modified and I want to avoid going down that rabbit hole with this car (at least I am going to try).

My current modification list for this car consists of one item:
1. Low-dust brake pads

I’m sure there will be others over time but I’m going to keep it minimal to start.

What mods have you done?

On the topic of racing, I’m going to reach out to you directly about Millville. I like the idea of getting some lessons on that track and then start doing some events there.

As for Atco, if you want, let me know if you are planning any trips down there. I definitely want to get there this year and would rather not roll there alone (not many car people in my circle of friends).

Hello All! I’ve been stalking this forum for quite a while and now it’s time to be a part of it!

I have a '13 GT with a ton of work done to it and back in November I picked up a '22 GT500! What an amazing car!

Little about me, I live in NJ (come on spring!) and I've been a Mustang fan for as long as I can remember. I'm not the most mechanically inclined person but I do all my own paint correction and ceramic coating work (and maybe one day I pick up PPF application).

I'm looking to get into road coarse racing and Monday (3/20) I'll be in Charlotte for Track Attack!

Here are some pics of the cars.
