I’ve been look at mk kits myself since I’ve got numerous power plant options at the shop. Where did you end up getting your kit from? What power plant are you going with? I’m excited to see your gt40 build get started and keep us updated

I’m going with active gt40. Chris Arden gt40 is designed with c6 suspension components which is a great design. I build my cars to be driven so I don’t want to be limited to 1 company (Rcr) if I bend a control arm etc. I live in NY and roads are horrible lol.Once Chris and I finish going over my build plans and Added options I can place order. Drivetrain will be 427 Fe stacked injection with 997 transaxle (highest rated hp&tq). Not going to crazy so Only looking to get 600/650hp as I dont want a handful again like my cobra🤠🤦🏻‍♂️. I will be posting complete build on this thread👍🏻 And I’m sure I’ll have a ton of ford questions again 😬.i never build a mid engine car so this will be An interesting journey

Hello everyone,
im in need Some opinions On whether or not to add the full rollcage to car or not? Chassis has a main hoop behind the seats but I’m debating on adding to it and going forward to create full cage. my intentions with car will be mainly street driven but I’d like to get into road course racing with it.
thanks

Decisions decisions...

I am leaning towards adding a 4 pt to my 2020 as well. Prior to taking my CFTP on the road course recently, I have only been racing in Ford’s cars that all have had roll bars. The big difference was having a race harness versus just the seatbelt and Recaros. I’m sure your GT40 will have some amazing performance making you want the added lock-down to keep you planted in the seat. Even with it being a cold ass day, I was still seeing cornering g’s upwards of 1.33 with the CFTP. This is quite the lateral force. I definitely left the track that day wanting a harness. The roll bar is nice added protection that you will hopefully never need, but the harness makes it worthwhile!

No question, do it. Seriously doubt you would regret putting it in, but could regret not doing it.
If the like button would allow multiple hits, I would run out of screen space. Super stoked for this build!!!

The 32 3 window coupe is on my build list, love that car. the gt40 has a 4pt but Im thinking I may need to add to it. I’m not sure on space as I never sat in one yet but it looks pretty tight.

I found without a harness, I was using the steering wheel and my arms to keep my body from moving around.
With a harness holding you in place, your arms are more relaxed and you have better feel and control of the steering.

I will deff have 5pt harness either way as i do in my cobra. My only issue that im hearing is the gt40 cockpit is very tight without full cage so adding will make even worse

I've been in a GT40, they're definitely cozy. I've seen some pretty impressive cages over the years where it was somewhat hidden. Knowing the craziness of your builds, you could probably come up with something.
