Leak in DCT

I had my first track day with the car last week and put the car up on the lift to check it over and noticed leaks on the tranny. I have just over a 1,000kms on the car now. It appears to be leaking all along the seam circled as well as the cooling line tube. I wiped everything dry and will check tomorrow to see if it starts leaking along the seam again. It also appears to be leaking around the engine oil drain plug.

Most common is the cooler lines leaking. Clean the area and look for the source. My trans got replaced due to leaks.

You might want to rethink that title. It sounds very much like a Craigslist ad.

I have an update to this situation with the leak. I managed to wipe off the oil all over the transmission over the past couple of days. Topped off the DCT fluid and went for a drive for 10 minutes expecting to be able to determine the source of the leak. Put the car back on the lift and there wasn’t any signs of leaks at the seam or the cooling lines. There was fresh oil dripping down the back of the oil pan on the passenger side. This could have been dripping and spraying I. The wind on the transmission leading me to think that is were it is coming from.

I then thought to check the engine oil level to see if it is possibly coming from there. After the engine has cooled this is what I found.

Have you checked the valve covers for the dreaded spark plug seal leak? Any smoke? If you’ve isolated the trans and don’t believe it’s coming from there the next place we know 3000+ VIN cars are having the plug seal leaks. Any chance that’s the issue?

My car is N2148. I don’t think that applies to me but could be wrong. I do not see any smoke.

What’s the last 4 of your VIN?
