Well, the rock curse got me. I just saw a similar post somewhere but I think this is a significant damage compared to others. Pulled away from intersection and got in a turning lane to turn into Dollar General. As soon as I started slowing down, the following sound I heard sounded like I am scraping something under my car. Got out to see what was going on and it was this. Borrowed a screw driver from someone to push the rock out. YIKES!! What a day! This is ridiculous. I mean what are the odds that a rock would get stuck between a brake caliper and inner wheel? Need recommendations on what to do next.

What to do now…? Ignore it and “rock it!” This is the downside of the massive front calipers. They are super tight on the wheel barrels. It will happen again.

I'd figured as much that it will happen again. Is it safe to drive even though the heat resistance material is damaged? I'm just looking for some answers. Someone posted on group page where it leaked air from the wheel (Sounds farfetched) but then again I don't know much.

Heat shielding getting messed up won’t affect you whatsoever. I spoke with a rep awhile back that said the heat shielding was not necessary. When the car is in motion, air circulates and all is well. Ford decided they wanted shielding after doing bake tests in an oven.

I have heat shield damage on my wheels as well and I track the shit out of mine. My brakes get SMOKING hot! I don’t come right off the track and park the car with hot brakes though. I either go for a cooldown drive or put my fans on the brakes. For street driving, it will be a non event.

No need for stress. As long as the pressure vessel isn’t ruptured (been there), all is well.

Super helpful! You have literally all the answers I need pal! Thank you so much. I literally parked my car because I was so irritated and took my Corolla out on this beautiful day 🤣 no disrespect to the Corolla.
