Hello
My first post on this forum.
Has anyone had a proplem with an air bubble on the sidewall of the
rear tire? I have one and noticed it about 4 days after I picked up the car.
Goodyear wants to prorate the tire at 50% because Dobbs said it is probably
an impact bubble. I told them that I did not hit anything and you can see that
the tire and wheel is not damaged. I had at that time around 250 miles. Friday
they will put the new tire on and evaluate the inside. I do not think I should
have to pay anything.

Welcome to the forum.I have about 1200 miles on mine and have not noticed a problem but will look more closely when I get home.

I've run into that problem with Firestone tires, but never with Goodyear. With my Firestone tires, the problem was identified as a manufacturing defect (thin spots in the sidewall).

I've also heard that problems like this can arise through the shipping process. When tires are shipped, they are often strapped together with metal straps. If they are strapped too tight, the straps can damage the sidewall on the top tire. I dunno if that's true...just something I heard.

Thanks for the information as it may come in handy Friday
when I get the new tire put on. I also heard that it can happen
on the car carrier when they strap the car down.
Hope you get a build date soon!

That sounds like a defect in the sidewall or something, hope all goes well.:)

FYI

This post was originally written by 'Eph.2:8-9' on November 1, 2006 (around 14 months ago). I'm sure that by now this tire issue has been resolved and he is probably looking at replacing his subsequent set of tires.

Hello all
My tire was changed at no charge. Thanks for all your concern and help.
My rear tires do have a lot less tread on them now. Ha!

Thanks Max

I am sure I will see some of you at the Shelbyfest 2008 in Hermann, Mo
on April 19th!!!
