Last time I drove a base model was a couple months ago at the track in Track Mode. It was my student’s car. Prior to that, it had been a couple years since driving my old base and I haven’t experienced other modes like Normal/Sport since then. The CFTP definitely has a firmer ride, but with normal suspension, it’s not harsh at all.Awesome. I have the same setup!! Great minds... cough cough
Tim, would you say that CFTP "Normal" = Base "Sport" (or somewhere in between "Normal" and "Sport" or in between “Sport” and “Track”) ?
I have everything set to Sport including exhaust with the exception of suspension, which is set to Normal. Track exhaust has drone. I use it at the track and once in awhile on the street when I bark at a neighbor dog.Oscar, gad you made this thread, You, Tim, I think have the same settings of my mode as I do, Oh I own a base model, never been in a CFTP version so I have no idea, anyway my my mode is
Sport everything except,
Suspension Normal
Exhaust Track
Is that what you both run on the street?
Like Tim mentioned, Track or Sport suspension for me felt to harsh, I even tried Drag, that lasted about 30 minutes.
I was thinking going to Sport on my exhaust also, seems just as damn loud to me, I have a H-PIPE Resonator delete also.I have everything set to Sport including exhaust with the exception of suspension, which is set to Normal. Since you take your car to the track, you’d benefit from the CFTP springs and rear sway bar. Regarding the magneride programming, it’s my understanding that the difference is not due to the lower stiffer springs, but rather the lighter weight of the CF wheels.Oh, I am still thinking to get CFTP Springs, what difference will I feel and or make will it have on the car, Would getting the thicker rear sway bar be a must?
I don't think my Ford dealer can recalibrate the Magnaride also, they have to take the Mistress to Yokohama Tire, to align it, front or rear. Sucks not having the right equipment to do this stuff, they told me they're trying to get those systems to do this stuff house.
Ah, so I don't have to really do this then and I shouldn't worry about it?Regarding the magneride programming, it’s my understanding that the difference is not due to the lower stiffer springs, but rather the lighter weight of the CF wheels.
For Ford parts, I’d go through Middleton Ford for cost +10%, but you will be dealing with shipping issues… not sure how that would be handled. You’ll have to ask.Ah, so I don't have to really do this then and I shouldn't worry about it?
I am waiting for Brian to remove his rear CFTP springs and buy the front/rear set, I'll have to find the Thicker rear sway bar though, any suggestions where I can get one, Lethal Performance sells the springs, not the sway bars though, at least that is what I was told.
I haven't been searching a lot lately, I got my steeda stuff in my cart, new Wing in a cart, like to buy it all at once, I need to pay off a few bills before spending another 5K, that number includes oil/trans filters and one to two cases of DCT fluid, Ford dealer here is to expensive for this stuff, $90 bucks for 1 liter of Motorcraft GT500 DCT Fluid, $120 for a Motorcraft oil filter. Crazy
Thanks again Tim, where would I be without this forum? Up a creek without a paddle that is where, and wasting a lot of cash![]()
Okay Thank you Tim. 🙏For Ford parts, I’d go through Middleton Ford for cost +10%, but you will be dealing with shipping issues… not sure how that would be handled. You’ll have to ask.
I skipped the cftp springs and went for the steeda springs, they also sell a mag ride controller that is optimized for their spring setup. I also run lighter wheels, I have the apex wheels.Okay Thank you Tim. 🙏

Thank you both, Maison, Stan, All this from everyone is great info, I am still in the info gathering stage, before I buy anything. Being here it is better to know 100% what you need before purchasing anything, as if its wrong, it gets expensive shipping things back and forth. My experience, the cftp rear sway bar is not a must do right away. I have run my car with stock, bmr and steeda springs, and always end up back on the base rear swaybar, as the car is slightly too loose (oversteer) with anything bigger. This may be due to the lack of rear wing, or my driving style - I use a lot of trail braking.
So drive your car with the springs first, then if you feel too much understeer, the bar can be added very easily.
