Any thoughts on if these CFTP wheels are repairable?

I bought a 22 CFTP that was damaged. The body damage isn't that bad just the Left rear quarter and rear bumper but the driver side wheels has a good amount of damage but still hold air. The Rear passenger wheel is untouched but front passenger side wheel is destroyed. I guess I'm trying to figure out what way I should go with seeing if fixing theses wheels is possible or if replacing the wheels the only option. So as of now I only have one rear wheels that is good.

Welcome to the forum! There is only one person I’d reach out to to see if repairs are possible:

That can be fixed. Spyder Composites in California. Figure about 3 to 6 months and $1500 or so....based on my discussion with various prior customers and SC myself.

@Goose17 Appreciate it! I sent Spyder Composites a messaged and some pictures so I guess will see what they say. I'm pretty busy tonight with the Stars playoff game but sometime tomorrow I'll get a post together on the member introductions. This ones a semi project car.

@TonyNJ Well that's giving me some hope but I'm not liking the possible 6 month wait, I might need to look for some replacements in the meantime.

I have a perfect Rear for sale listed here in the forum. Send me a PM, maybe we can work it out.

Are you a local DFW’r?

Welcome to the forum! You’re in good company. @Goose17 lives near you and knows everything there is to know about these cars. He runs this forum. He even got me into my car once when when the battery died and I couldn’t open it electronically! A great dude.

Hope to read about your repairs and impressions of the car as you fix her up. I am very curious about how insurance companies treat a CFTP car with relatively minor body damage but destroyed wheels. I have read the wheels would be over $8,000 EACH to replace from ford and I do not believe they can be purchased anywhere else. Could lead to a “total” pretty quickly in a car with some miles and years on the clock. But we see them come up on the used market quite a bit. I think going rate is $10,000-$15,000 for a set.

Hey thanks! Ya I seen someone grab a set recently on here for around 10k. As for brand new fortunately I have a pretty good account with my local Ford store and get a decent discount off list. I had them quote me 2 fronts and a rear as a worst case scenario for me, also only about a week out and not on backorder. The rears aren’t that bad at $3,284 but the fronts are $5,068. But I’m sure I can find a better deal on a used set or individually.

I was able to get ahold of Spyder Composites today and they said they should be repairable and would be around $1,500 each with a 4 week turn around. If I go that route I still need to get one front.

Is the plan to fix and flip or fix and enjoy?

I haven’t decided on that one yet. I bought a 2021 GT500 last year and kept that one for about 6 months. It wasn’t a CFTP but I absolutely loved it. I live in a HighRise and to have multiple vehicles can become an issue.

Why is there one picture of a different GT500 in there in the 2nd to last photo?

@Stealth7 is looking for 2 CF wheels Tony.
'm really looking for a set (or one front and one rear) that has no rash, nicks, discoloration on the barrel or anything. That said i'm sure these will sell quickl GLWS!
If your looking to buy a used set, checkout this thread.

It's the same one just didn't have the hood/bumper strip put back on at the time. I bought it from ford with only 10 miles but it also had some damage on the front end. When I say I bought it from ford I don't mean a Ford dealership, It was from Ford Corporate at auction. That white one had been damaged on the transport to the dealership. Ford sells a lot of transport/factory damaged vehicles at Auction.

Sounds like a good score. Good luck with the repairs. Gorgeous CFTP.

Well I picked up a CFTP wheel set late last night, pretty good deal just has mismatched tires so I'll need to order a new set. As for my original CFTP wheels I'll still probably send the two off to get Repaired and I'll also have that other rear that was undamaged.
