Hello everyone, I had to swap out my ABS unit and now have all 3 lights on (AdvanceTrac, Stabilitrac, ABS light flashing). While it doesn't really affect the driveability of the car and I can feel the tires skid if I brake hard which isn't really an issue for me but surely indicates ABS isn't working at all. I tried programming all As-built via Forscan but either the VIN isn't matching in the ABS module, or it needs IDS to fully PMI the module. Would anyone have any advice or be able to help by programming it for me? I just can't justify trusting a cheap knockoff VCM II or spending the 2-4k it costs for IDS and a brand new VCM 3. Unfortunately Ford dealers around me either refuse to work on it due to me installing the module myself, or they just in the past have had zero competence on actually using IDS and give up if something doesn't work first try.

How did you get the air out of your ABS unit? My understanding is the dealer has a pulsing system to get the air out. Home bleeders don’t do that.

ForScan has the ability to do the dealer initated brake bleed which simply runs the ABS while the car is off for a few minutes. This will push all air from the brake booster/reservoir, the lines leading from and to the ABS module, and push the air into the brake caliper lines. Then you can bleed the brakes. Some air of course can get stuck and may require multiple bleeds and running of the process. It doesn't likely get EVERY bit of air out of it but it's more than enough that you won't notice the difference.
