Hello all, first post.

I know this is probably a shot in the dark and nobody probably knows this yet, but anybody have any idea how many model years they will be making this current gen GT500? Had a 2014 GT500, I know they only made them for 2013 and 2014. I loved my 2014, it was one of the best looking cars on the road IMO. Reason I'm asking is, I may not be able to jump on a 2021 GT500. Hope I can, but it may be hard due to the timing of a career change. Would like to get back into another GT500.

Here's some pics of 2014

Welcome to the forum! That is a good looking 14... it must have been tough to part with. The current GT500 is slated for a 3 year run. The S650 Mustang is scheduled to enter as a 2023 model year.

I only know the production numbers for the 2013 GT500. There were 4,885 GT500s produced in 2013. There were 4,077 coupes and only 808 convertibles. Maybe someone has a similar breakdown for the 2014.

There were 10,615 13/14 GT500s made in total. We have the breakdowns right here:

It appears that the rare bears will be the 2009 GT500.
“Rare” is relative. If talking 09s, you need to include 07s and 08s. You could also lump all S197 GT500s into the conversation since they are all similar. I almost never see another GT500 on the road, which would in a sense make them rare. However, as a collector, I wouldn’t use the term “rare” in describing any 07+ GT500, including the 2020+.

Rare has nothing much to do with how many were produced but how many are still on the road. When I got my 07 there were sure a lot of them that got wrecked. I am a OO and not many of them ether. Sure they talk about production numbers and mine was 10,000 in the run but I have a low production number for mine. I just don't know how many survivors are out there.

Thank you. Yeah, it was really tough, but I still see it every once in a while. I kept in touch with the buyer, he’s a cool guy. He went nuts with it, it currently makes over 1,000 rwhp.
I’ll make an intro post, thank you!

I would use the term rare. Kansas City metro isn't as large as Dallas-Fort Worth, but I can tell you from going to car events, shows, cars & coffee for many years, it is not often you will see another S197 GT500. That doesn't mean they aren't plentiful, but you darn sure DO NOT see them on the road or in shows. I have seen two '13/14 GT500s since the summer of 2019, at a local Kansas City Mustang club cruise night. Andretti's GT500 was at the World of Wheels, but since then, I have not seen another at any other events. Shelbyfest will have plenty of all years/models. But that is not the norm. Shelbyfest will be drawing from the entire country. Andretti? Greg? Do you echo my sentiments about seeing them very often in the KC Metro?

In see exactly Z E R O GT500s of any type or year except my convertible which I drive every day when it's sunny and nice and I don't need the truck for something (or if I decide I need some quiet during my commute). So yes it's rare IMO.
