I just ordered a 2010 GT500.The dealer told me that the cars are made in Michigan and then shipped to the Shelby plant in Nevada to be finished.Anybody know if thats true?Just curious.

I don't think regular GT500s go anywhere near Shelby's facilities. The KR maybe, but I'm not sure.

AFAIK, Ford just licensed Shelby's name for these cars. They were actually designed by SVT.

I spoke with Shelby Racing in Nevada and they don't ever mess with a normal 500. All work is completed and shipped to the dealership from Michigan. I had inquired about doing unlisted options on the order form and it doesn't happen that way.
