I know of a few friends and family that are thinking I went crazy when I told them I was going to sell my Shelby that I've only had for about six months. I still might be crazy, but not because of the Shelby. I had decided at the age of 73 that I was going to get an '07 Shelby, drive around listening to 60's rock, hang out at Lil' Anthony's on Saturday night, and relive "those" years. While I really enjoy my Shelby, those things just aren't happening. I know now that wanting that Shelby was real, just for the wrong reasons. So, here it is, a pristine 2007 Shelby GT500, Vista Blue/Stripe Delete (1 of 9 see window sticker), factory stock except for a few minor cosmetic things that I will change back if a buyer wishes. In any case, I have all original parts. 10,500 miles, always garaged. I bought it from Dave Castine of vintagecarsonline.com who is a friend of Jay Leno and is, himself, a collector. I had the car shipped in an enclosed trailer from MA to Tucson, AZ about six months ago. As I am sure you all know Hagerty recently classified the '07-'09 Shelby's officially as collector cars based on sales figures that are available from Hagerty. I have many more pictures available upon request. When I first got the car it had the well-known fueling problem. As a result, I had the entire fueling system replaced which included the tank, fuel pump, all emissions equipment (cost $2700). While it was on the rack we noticed that the driveshaft coupler was beginning to leak so I had it replaced with a one-piece Dana aluminum driveshaft (Sorry, I didn't keep the original driveshaft but I'll bet I could get it back so I can put it back to stock). Also replaced the upper and lower rear axle torque bars on the differential because the bushings had rotted. Engine is stock except for a JLT air cleaner that comes with the BAMA Tuner (I have the factory air box). I had 3" Corbeau racing harnesses installed along with the proper Corbeau shoulder bar behind the seat (thinking I might autocross some day). The original belts are still in place so you can use either. Tires are brand new (1,000 miles) OEM. It has Ford FF racing springs which lowered it 1.5" front and back (I have the original factory springs). It has Bassani axle-backs (mellow but not loud, no droning and I have the original mufflers). I have all stock parts including original mufflers. It comes with factory cover and never used bra. The original owner bought it to match his 1968 GT500 the same color. His '68 was used in the Ford product intro promotional documents for the 2007 GT500. I have complete documentation package that starts with the original order, factory build papers, shipping to first dealer, first owner papers. It has never had a front license plate and I even have the original extra key fob. $28,000 is a steal, for a virtually new and rare color. I can be called or texted at (619)518-5568.
