A few years ago I replaced my original mint condition 2008 GT500 battery blanket with the one that Ford listed in the parts application. Shown below is the original from my 2008 and the plastic parts bag from the new one that is currently on my Motorcraft replacement battery....
From what I remember, the battery blanket is not GT500 specific but instead fits all Mustangs that had a 96 series battery starting in 2005.....I believe the AR3Z number above was a redesign in 2010 or so..........That AR3Z cover was not "exactly" like my original cover, but it was so close that most people would not know without removing it and comparing side-by-side. It was the bottom area that was different, like maybe one of the cut outs for the hold down was wider, or something like that?

I know the battery terminals face the firewall on 2007-2009 and face forward on the 2010-2014......Not that it would make a difference with the battery blanket?......

Yes, ^^^^^that blanket is what I showed in my post #4. That is what Ford sold me as a direct replacement for my 2008 GT500. I really didn't need one with a battery replacement, but my "slightly different" correct original was so nice I wanted to save it. the new replacement is on my 2008 now, but hidden under a Shelby battery cover.....Check this one also... looks like the part # you have has been superceded.

Yes I have. The ones you can get from CJ's and LMR are to small. Both of my 07's are the same size batteries. The part number above came off the old blanket.

What series batteries are in your 2007's?
As I mentioned above, I believe the earlier years of GT500 had either 96 series or 40 series and they both fit the battery tray and are very similar in case size, but not exactly the same case size.

Below are the case specs on both from a battery discussion we had years ago on SVTPerf.com.......
BXT-40R: Height: 6.875in Length: 11in Width: 6.875in Weight: 37lbs
BXT-96R: Height: 6.88in Length: 8.97in Width: 6.30in Weight: 32lbs
Of course there will be a blanket fitment issue between the two.

^^^That is the difference in finding a correct fitting battery blanket.
My 2008 GT500 had a BXT 96 installed on the assy. line, and that is what I have used as a replacement since new, and the blanket that is sold for my 2008 application fits.

I would also suspect that the NOS GT500KR battery blanket linked from eBay in post #7 is for the BXT 96 battery since it is 2008/09?..........
It has been years ago, when these cars were having issues with there original assy. line batteries (first replacement) that this BXT 40 and 96 discussion first started, and as far as I know it was the 2007 that had this either/or on the batteries and not 2008+

You're welcome. So I am guessing electrolyte has damaged you original blanket(s) and that is why you are trying to find replacements?
^^^^If that is the case, and you can not find the correct original cover(s), the next option is to identify what Ford applications use the 40 series battery and then find which of those use a blanket. The 2015/16 Ford Transit uses a 40 series, but that application has a full plastic box around the battery instead of a blanket.
It will come down to doing some research and if you have a friend at Ford Parts, that also helps to narrow down the search.......
OR change to 96 series batteries and their much more readily available blankets?

Yea, I'll keep hunting. I just wanted to replace it to clean up the engine bay, I'm going to sell it. 7900 original miles.
