History
Purchased used in 1970, sold in 1981
Best friend referred to the color as "arrest me red" as the car was a cop magnet. My late wife was pulled over in Hampton VA and asked if she had my permission to drive it, she held up her engagement rig and wedding band (originally my maternal grandmother's, platinum with a pretty much 1 carat diamond and 6 guard stones) and told the officer, "this gives me permission".

I had to let it go the end of 1981 as I had 3 kids, had been working as a Mercedes-Benz tech (also Jaguar, MG and Dodge) at Tysinger Motors in Hampton, but was in the process of getting rehired at Newport News Shipbuilding. I needed the money badly. Wife got in her 1970 1/2 Falcon wagon and left while the deal was being closed as she was given the engagement ring sitting it it outside the bank where it had been in a safe deposit box.

First picture is from the ad where the current owner found it, second is after a full restoration and done back as it was built in 1966, Le Mans stripes were optional, but I wanted them as did my body man/painter. third picture is running a high speed event on an airfield, particular corner was dubbed "Corvette Corner" after 19 of the first 20 cars spun there (# 20 was another Shelby).
