Default Dyno Results

Well, I put my car on the dyno for the first time on Saturday. It was a dyno event at Piedmont Custom Motorsports in Raliegh. Nice guys at PCM and a nice crowd. I pulled 495rwhp and 477rwtq and slightly less on the second run due to heat. It was a blast and the wife was telling me to get quotes on exhaust, CAI, etc. by the time we left

Thanks to BJ/Justin at VMP for the tune.

Now to start on that list ...

I'm not sure why you want an exhaust and CAI. If just for kicks that's OK but if you're looking for more power then you are barking up the wrong tree.

For more power you need to upgrade the blower maybe with a smaller pulley or get a KB or Whipple and then a tune.

And exhaust in particular is a waste of money unless you are looking for better sound which a lot of people are doing. So an exhaust is not much more HP but a big expense both to buy it and get it installed unless you do the work yourself.

skip the CAI, unless you're going with a larger blower. one thing that would really wake the car up is 4.10's and a 1-pc DS. there's a new 2.5" pulley for the stock blower, that and a hi-flo X would get you another 30-40whp.

CAI upgrade is a waste of money on the stock blower. Pulley would be your next best mod and the tune probably won't even need updated. The off road pipe is an easy install/cheap, should be good for a double digit whp gain and then you don't have to worry about melted cats.

Thanks for the input. I do understand the comments. The order that I put those things in was the actual order that my wife mentioned. Sound is first and foremost on the list for her.

I would say that the pulley/idler/tune would be at the top of my list to increase performance - best bang for buck at this point.
