Default Sync Doesn't Recognize USB Flash Drive

I've been using a 32GB flash drive for my MP3's all summer long without issue. Yesterday I added 6 new albums to it, and when I plugged it back into the Shelby, suddenly Sync says the device is unrecognizable.

Anyone run into this issue before? How did you fix it?

backup your music if you havent already, reformat the drive, then copy music back to drive and let sync reindex. This worked for me after I had used the macbook pro to update the songs on the drive and removed it without shutting the drive down right and it became unreadable by sync.

Weird, I always click the "safely remove hardware" and remove it only after it says it's safe to remove...

I was afraid someone was going to say wipe it clean... that was what I was thinking on my way to work when I encountered the issue... No worries on the music being backed up though as I have them all on 2 different PCs and on my ZEN X-Fi along with the flash drive, but that's a lot of data to wipe and re-load.

I heard that!...I just pulled mine out of laptop after updating it (right after my post above) and the god damn usb interface piece pulled right off the body of the drive. There went a 16gb drive. Time to get a new one and copy all my crap to it.

I had this exact issue two weeks ago on my 2011 vert. I took it to my ford dealer and they reflashed sync program. Took a few minutes and it was complete. USB was reinstalled.

Damn, not sure what the hell caused it, but plugged it into my desktop and the pc couldn't read it either! Having to format just for the pc to be able to do anything with it anyway... good thing I have my entire mp3 collection in quadruplicate!

The dirive needs to be formatted as FAT32 NOT NTFS.

Do a master reset on the Sync system. You will have to resync your phones.
