I know this thread is in here somewhere but it was pretty dated so I am starting a new one.

I have an 09 and I am really wanting to add a KB 2.8. I know about the void of warranty and such and I am willing to take the chance. This is my 3rd mustang, 2nd Shelby and I have never (knock on wood) had a major problem of any kind with the car. Hubby is more reserved than I am, I have already made many changes to the car...pulley, CAI, throttle body, exhaust, tune, MGW shifter, etc I figure I have already voided the warranty.

I guess my reservations are: is the KB worth it? I have read about the customer service. I am going to have it installed, we aren't going to do it ourselves. I have also read it is just preference between KB and Whipple. Is the Whipple a better deal?

I am looking for about 650rwhp, this car is my daily driver and will occasionally be at the drag strip.

If money not a problem and neither was the loss of warranty what would you do between the KB and Whipple. I do not want a Hellion system.

Darcie

ps I am willing/planning to make other changes as needed to the car...drive train, gears etc..

I have read lots of info and have got a plan of attack for my 07 now, just had one question. Naturally I am going to do the "entry level" mods- CAI, Tune, and Upper pulley.... but I am also considering a lower pulley as well. I was going to do them all at the same time and rely on a custom tune via email to control the A/F till i get to a dyno to see some numbers. I was just curious at what power level is it necessary to start upgrading the stock fuel system?? Better safe than sorry I always say

Can aftermarket LCA's change the handling if they are the same length of the OEMs and mounted in the same location? Contrary to many on this forum, I actually like the looks of my stock ride height and do not wish to lower the car. But I sure would like to limit wheel hop when drag racing. I've read in this forum where some have installed LCA's only and claimed it stopped their wheel hop.

Popular Hotroding did a review on them and they seem to have good things to say about them. They also say not to even try to run them on the street because the cops will not let them slip by. I thought if they were DOT approved then you were good to go? Anyhow, wondering if anyone has any experience with these.

How involved is it to install Long Tubes? What's the install time on average by a garage that knows what they are doing?
Thanks.

The only thing I can see is maybe when going over a rise when the shock will extend could the tire hit the bracket. Is this the case or what should I be looking for? FYI, I just installed Nitto NT05R 315/40-18 on my CCW 18x11 rims.

Hey guys... Im brand new on the site. I just picked up an 07 with 3k miles on it. I am thinking about doing a HID kit for my head/fog lights. Has anyone ever come across this kit?

Since this is my first post it wont let me use the URl but the lights are on

HID online store . com - check them out there are 4 ballast and 2 Hid bulbs in each headlamp

I have been reading up on how people were having problems with the for lights bubbling and I'm concerned about the headlights as well with two HID bulbs in each. DO you guys think this kid would be ok for the headlights and Are the 25W kits ok to use now in the fogs?

Thanks for all of your help

Hey guys. I have been enjoying my new 07 GT500 the past couple of nights, and the mod bug has already hit. I have a Diablosport Trinity out of my 2010 Challenger so I loaded it up on the Shelby and it was a nice little gain, even without a CAI. They claim a 30-40 hp gain on their website I think, and I would definately believe it. However, other brands of tuners claim much more power gains. I will be adding a C&L and 2.6 pulley soon, and I am wondering if there is THAT much difference in the different tuners. If it will be a huge improvement then I dont mind to buy one, but I already have the Trinity. I just dont see a lot of guys running the Diablosport, so it makes me wonder if the others are THAT much better.

All input welcome... Thanks!!!

I got an 07 GT500 basically stock but with the TVS kit with the Ford Pro-Cal tune that comes with it. I just got the L&M 66mm with the matching plenum/elbow. If I bolt this on right now....what results would I get with no change in the tune? What HP and TQ would I increase by? Is it safe for the car? :worried:

.......................................

I also have in the garage ready to go in shortly.....a Shelby dual puller H/E, VMP's new 2.59 pulley with 90mm idler, Reische 170 stat.....qbviously with this it will be custom dyno tuned with my SCT. I'm hoping to get 650RWHP with all this....will I?
