Will be my first trip to the track with my 2010 Shelby, though I have done many track runs in the past on other cars.
For the stock tires what is a good psi to run? was thinking of going around 26ish.
Also does launching at 1g-1500 rpm seem about right with stock tires? I know traction will be an issue.
btw the car has J&M upper and lower control arms, rest is stock.

On street tires lowering the pressure won't really help you much. Might could try a couple of pounds less than stock, but probably wont do much. As for launching, you might be just as good popping the clutch around 1200 rpms and let it bog off the line. I have seen several posts where guys have launched around 2500 and slipped the clutch to get it to hook, but usually they were on drag radials.
Good luck, cause it really will be a balancing act with radials. After I put the pulley and tune on my car, I had a VERY frustrating day at the track and was actually on me cell phone in the staging lanes ordering my drag radials. :grinbiginvert:

Thanks for the reply Steve, I know with stock tires I wont be getting much grip.
Just hoping this trip does not get me hooked on drag racing again LOL:rofl:

Run it yet? I'd like to see what everyone else is running in stock trim.

Freaknik happened at the track on Saturday night. Looked like a tornado went through there and trash was everywhere. They got on the track and busted bottles. The guy that talked to us said there was broken glass everywhere and may take a week (we'll see) to clean up.
