I'm having a problem with first gear, most of the time when I shift it into first gear I can't get a smooth start, it's always a little gerky. Can someone help me?I've tried less gas, more gas, and depressing clutch more slow or fast. Thanks Erik

You didn't mention what year model you have. The 07 - 09 models with the ceri-metallic clutch takes some finesse to get going in first smoothly. Just apply a little throttle while releasing the clutch.

quick question for you i am wandering if this is more a problem or not. I can drive it and make it not do this but didnt know if it was the nature of the beast. Sometimes if i depress the clutch too long it seems like or i dont give it enough gas the rearend starts jumping around weird doesnt make alotta since, but didnt know if it was just how i was driving it or it was a problem cause clutch/ flywheel would heat up? I am wandering if its the same problem as white shelby i have an 09.

Bigger gears like 373 or 410 will solve your problem

Okay...you say two things...If you are having a problem putting the "car into 1st gear" and it is blocking....that is one of the first stages of the clutch/flywall tsb.
If you are having problems launching from 1st gear and it boggs down or "shudders"....learn how to drive a performance clutch :silly:

Hey I have a 2009 and was used to the 03 tremec clutch friction point. I find I get the best take offs with clutch almost 2/3 of the way out and give her a little rev. to let people know your there and she takes off with no problems or "shudders" made by bogging down the engine. Just my $.02 worth since I had the same thought. Only other option I offer up is get out there and drive the piss out of her! Remember this "Fast cars break" unfortunately.
