what are the best drag radials that will fit stock rim for 09 gt500, i want the nt05r 285/40/18 but they say there for 10-11 in. rim, stock rim is 9.5 .. so was going to go with m/t 265/40/18 but thats smaller than the stock tires?? would like to keep the stock look but i need to hook up please help thanks

The NT05R size 285/40/18 will be fine on your 9.5's.

drag radial for best performance rim 15" race star 15x10 or bogard or jegg star and MT or M&H

I ran the 265/40/18 on my 06GT and it's a good tire. Pulled 1.6x 60s with it. For a stock GT500 its a decent choice.

I think a bigger tire like the Nitto 285/40/18 is a better choice.

I have the 325/50/15 Mickey Thompson's on 15" drag wheels and love them.

275/45/18 M&H. They're 28" tall.

Based on advice from one of the older heads here I bought MTs; M&H were first choice but were unavailable at the time.

The MTs are on my drag wheels and they hook up very well. The M&Hs are supposed to be better, but I haven't tried them yet.

Unless you have a "Garage Queen" that you only drive on pretty days, get an extra set of wheels for the DRs. The DRs really suck on wet roads and they are a real pain to get on and off the wheels. :banana_hitit:

Do not get the nt05rs. I have them now and they suck. They fastest 60 I can pull off is 1.84. Im gonna get some mt on a 15in wheel when these are shot

I've seen the 275 DR class guys cut some rediculous 60's on these things.

Same compound as the big ones.

I've seen 3 guys break stuff with the fatter ones. (axle, LCA and my posi unit)

So exactly which 15" wheel fits the '11-12 GT500s? Do you need a sway bar relocator bracket?

I'd like to get a spare set for the occasional drag strip day.

I was considering the 15x10's myself, and bought the Steeda Relocation brackets. I wound up going with 275/45/18 M&H instead on 18x9.5 rims. If you need the relocation brackets, I still have them new in the box and I will make you a deal. PM me if interested.

Don't need the brackets yet, not even seeing the car until July when I move east to Virginia. (I'm Navy and moving from hawaii).

Plan to go with friends to Budds Creek drag strip in the future though. I just want the cheapest that will work, not trying to be fancy. I hear drag star 15x10 with 7.5" backspacing? That's a 315 M&H drag radial (10.5") right? I haven't seen it listed anywhere on the internet of the exact model of wheel and tire size that fits so I just mail order a pair.

what gears do you have? that's a 26" tire, a bit short IMO for the Shelby

Yeah currently trapping 122 pre port job after port was trapping 116 but thinking ecu was pulling timing or the stall wasn't locking up now that i go some new tires on the way when i get home from visiting the wife ( up here in nj still) im looking to hit the track saturday to do some data log gin and shoot for a better 60'
