islander033 03-05-2011, 06:07 PM Hey guys im checking out a few Shelbys south of the border, my question is does Ford Canada honor the warranty????
Call your local Ford dealer and see what they say. Even if they say yes, you won't really know until the first time you try and excercise your warranty.
I bought mine in Canada so that there would be no question whether or not the warranty would be valid.
gerbie28 03-05-2011, 06:56 PM Ya i know its something that worries the heck out of me, buying then having problems and finding out Ford Canada wont cover it scares the crap out me, i guess im gonna bite the bullet and purchase it locally
Cobra Fred 03-05-2011, 07:04 PM you won't be dissapointed. I have had several Z06s and while they are great cars the GT500 is just as much fun, and more retro as in real musscle car. The Z06 is a more expensive sport car. The electronics are far superior in the Ford if that means something to you as well. Enjoy having you with us regardless.
jrzycobra 03-05-2011, 07:22 PM Brampton, Ontario??? And you don't own a Mopar???
:D Welcome!

Ya the Z06 was a awesome car no complaints at all but I have always loved Mustangs so when the Shelbys came out again I got the itch
Hugh S. 03-05-2011, 09:10 PM The warranty should cross the border with the car.
I've had warranty work done in the US on my 2000 GT, which is a Canadian car, so it stands to reason that the reverse would be true. My father has also had warranty work done to his Taurus in the US with no issue. A quick phone call to Ford of Canada or your local dealer should clear things up.
I've seen alot of good deals on GT500s in the US, but not in Canada. Just not as many up here at the dealerships, and those who have bought them seem to be keeping them.
If you do purchase from the states, just make sure the car you choose is admissible into Canada. For instance, all years of GT500 are admissible, but only the 2009 GT500 KR is admissible.

Good luck shopping around! Enjoy your car when you finally get it!
Oh, and welcome to the board!
R3troGT 03-06-2011, 08:21 AM Welcome to the site, Neighbour.
I bought my 2010 Shelby last summer during Ford Canada's "Employee Pricing" promotion and paid $52K. The sticker was almost $62. Personally I do not think I would have saved a lot by getting a car from the US instead, and I really prefer having a CDN car. I think the relase value down the road will be better that way (just my guess)
On the 2011 Shelbys the SVTPP option is actually cheaper here in Canada. Ford Canada charges $2000 and in the US I belive it is $3500

I wonder if Ford will have that again Employee pricing again this year??? as it stand now a base 11 Gt5oo would run me $55,419 that of course is with Car Cost discount , I have been going threw Flea bay just to get an idea of what the price is over the border is and there a few Thousand cheaper yes, but I like many dont have 50 grand in cash to drop down at the moment so i have to finance, so thats a problem and plus i wanna have a Canadian Shelby so too speak, I had a Z06 with the american speedo 200mph and yes i know it was simple to switch to km's but it always read 200 and it always bothered me, i will bit the bullet and pay a little more and buy it here, as for resale you are right IMHO cuz when the time came when i did put my Z06 for sale people were not thrilled about a American car as apposed to being a Canadian bought car and the Canadian bought cars were getting more value

The Employee Pricing promotion has been running for 3 or so year, so I would be surprised if they did not bring it back. Question is will any dealers have any 2011 Shelby's left to sell. Last year only the 10's qualified for the discount, not the 11's. So I doubt the 12's will qualify this year.
Last time I checked Dixie Ford still had a couple brand new 2010's for sale. Mind be worth checking into. They may be willing to deal.
Hey Gerbie, I spent a long time shopping in the GTA, feel free to PM me if you want some help.
artex 03-28-2011, 08:35 PM I scheduled to pickup mine in Easter week. There will be a discount in future, but won't like last year 8k-10k under MSRP. Last year ford give each shelby $4000 rebate, if it sale at invoice price - $4000, it will start around $51k. Best time to buy, I missed it. Because the they had change for the engine in 11 version compare 10. Also 12 version will be very similar to 11's. I got my black/red for $57000+tax with tint, SVT and EP.
I also went to Summit ford, they were asking me $58,000 + tax for 2010 one, and they said they never had employee price....WTF.

1 2010 and at least 5 2011's here at Markville Ford. the nice thing about the 2010 is it has been in the showroom all winter! the 11's sat out in the snow. Employee pricing will be here in the summer! Welcome aboard
