Hello All,

I am looking into going to Dallas for Super Bowl and trying to get some advice on where to stay. Is there a certain part of town I should stay in? Or stay away from? Uptown/downtown? I feel like I can trust the advise of fellow stang bangers....

Thanks for any help

On the contrary, JETS baby! Born and bread in NY. Let's face it, the Steelers have enough hardware already.... It time for us to be happy for a change! Should be a great game though.

I'm also a New Yorker born and raised, but now live in Dallas. I would stay north of Dallas (Plano,Frisco,Lewisville,Carrollton,Addison). If you don't mind heavy congestion you can stay downtown Dallas in any hotels off I-35 (Stemmons Freeway). Be preparred if you can even find rooms in the downtown area they are going for upwards of $600 for a single room. I had some friends flying in for a business project and forgot it was superbowl weekend, and two weeks ago had to cancel it and reschedule for march due to there being no rooms available and no rental cars. Good luck with the search.

ps- there are also people on craigslist renting out their homes if price is no concern for you. Good luck!

I don't think you want to stay in Dallas at all. I believe the game will be played in Arlington Texas where I believe the stadium is. I lived in Irving for many years and that was where the stadium had been. You might as well stay as close to the game as possible and that isn't Dallas (even though you might think it would be since the team there are called the Dallas Cowboys). Arlington is half way between Dallas and Fort Worth and so if Arlington is booked you might do better to try and find a room in Fort Worth instead of Dallas just because many people will think of Dallas because of the team name. And when in Fort Worth eat at Joe T. Garcia's for good Mexican food, curmmy place, yummy food.

Seldoon is correcct, I live in Dallas and the game is actually in Arlington, ...15-18 miles West of Dallas. Try to get a spot in Arlington..but good luck..it is filling up!

Still up in NY. I was only going if the Jets won, but I guess they decided Pitt needed a 7th ring more than we needed a second. unreal... I went to the tampa v raiders superbowl in San Diego years ago and won't be back till my team makes it. It was a good time, but I don't have that much interest in the event itself. Hope all you guys down there are having fun. And thanks for the tips. Need to get to Texas some day regardless. Maybe take the kids and wife down one summer

Their "At the gates of seven" is starting to make my eyes bleed. I'm not a pro sports fan - I love my High School and college ball though...

You missed a crapy week here in the metroplex. 20 degrees for highs, ice everywhere. It's a mess cause we don't ever get it like this - so we aren't prepared. City guys are working their asses off though - my hat's off to 'em. If any of 'em read this - thanks for the sand guys!!!

I don't know how my Shelby brothers up North do it for months at a time... I really don't..
