I don't think everyone has indicated their gender. I think you can vote just indicating your age.

I took a stab at averaging the ages based on the middle age of each age group (like in 26-30, I used 28). I used 62 for the over 60 group and came up with 43 years for our average after 27 entries to the poll.

My intention was to have you vote for age and gender but it can be manipulated. You can vote just age or just gender.

I see that the largest % is in the 45-50 age bracket. I am a little (VERY LITTLE) bummed out that within the next couple of months I will go from the largest % to second from the smallest. It don't take a lot to really change where you are at in your life, does it ?

Our B-Days were actually in July, but thanks! Once passed 30, I kind of prefer to ignore the birthdays. All the good birthdays have passed, so now they're all just one more year closer to death.

Does everyone like my sunny outlook on life? :D That's what quitting smoking has done to me. Two weeks without a smoke, and I've turned into a bitter old man.

Thanks, man. I tried quitting on my own a while back and failed miserably. This time I have lots of help from my little friend Chantix. Thank you Pfizer Pharmaceutical!

Oh, and I also quit coffee at the same time. I was drinking about 100-150 ounces per day. Yeah, that's like 15 or 20 cups a day.

Needless to say, I'm not the most pleasant person to be around right now. :D

WOW  , coffee and smokes together. Sort of making you like a bear with a sore butt I bet. Another reformed smoker here. About 30 years now. Holy crap I'm gettin old.:D

Proud of you MR. PREZ. Keep up the fight. You will feel better. Besides, can't smoke in your Baby, right???????

Thanks, guys. Bear with a sore butt...that's funny. :D

I figured why go through a painful quitting process twice, so I quit both at once. Actually, I'm not really totally quitting coffee...just the gallons at work. The occasional stop at Starbucks on the weekend is OK with me, but it's nothing but water at work.

I'm finding this time around is relatively painless. I never was a really heavy smoker (5 or 6 cigs/day), and this Chantix stuff is a miracle drug! I recommend it to anyone who wants to quit. It runs about $130/month and my insurance didn't cover it, but still well worth it. I can even go out and have a few beers without having outrageous cravings.

I've reached the ridiculous age of 49. :mofo: I have decided that I'm not going to get any older, anymore. I've had enough of this crapola. As to my gender, I've got two ex-wives, a son, and a girlfriend. For my money, girlfriend trumps wife. So as to reinforce my masculinity, I drive a GT500.

Not to cap on the young folks but damn I thought I was young at 35 to own a gt500 how the heck are some of you youngins able to buy these cars? Be honest is it your parents buying them for you? 16? 17? 20? And seriously not bashing anyone here just a question.

The results don't make you look old. Yes the car was purchased for me. I earned some scholarship money for school (more than the car was), and at the was searching for a Terminator/LS1 to modify over college. Ended up with an 08 instead.

I am 41. I guess i belong to the largest age group of owners. I could have bought this car at 31 but decided to have a family first. Plus this car wasn't around back then.

That's too bad the money was spent on a car and not education :/ I would never as a parent allow that to happen.

I Got mine at 44. I could have got it at 41 but didn't want to pay the 60k it cost new.

Quite a step up from my first vehicle which was a 1963 International PK; that cost me a whopping $150.00.

I'm 23 and I bought mine a year ago. My old car (which I also bought) was totaled, and I put all the money straight towards the Shelby. Add in the 3 grand I had set aside for a heads/cam build on the old car, a 10k bank loan, and the Shelby was mine. To be fair though I work 40+ hours per week at a pretty good job. All the hard work definitely paid off.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood. The car was purchased as a result of the scholarship, but not with the money itself. It will definitely be used for school.

I just turned 29. I work my ass off and get paid well for it, add that to the fact that I have perfect credit, and that results is the banks giving me loans for anything I want. It's all about managing bills and knowing what you can pay for or cut out of your expenses. Plus I don't have any kids, so I might as well get what I want now before I can't afford it.

Gibz
02-02-2012, 11:20 PM
Sorry the way you worded it that's how I took it. Glad to hear it will be spent on your education.

As for mad mike I don't question your age and not so much nicks age. I just find it odd the really young ones in the teens especially. My parents would have never bought a gt500 for me and I didnt for my son either. I can see mid 20's and up owning them if you're working hard and doing it on your own. That's great. But again this is all my opinion lol

I remember buying myself a new camaro when I was 19 years old. My insurance was 3 grand a year and I did some of the most idiotic things behind the wheel of that car. That car had less than 200 horsepower. There is no way I would let my kid have a GT500! I would have killed myself in one.

Are the majority of us in mid-life crisis? lol

My dad bought a Mustang in 1965-Prairie Bronze 289 4 speed. I was 12. I sat in the car all night until I had read the manual cover to cover. We lived on a ranch so we had our own gas. When I was 13 he used to let me gas it up and drive it down the street for about a third of a mile before turning around. Since then I've always loved Mustangs and always will. This is my fifth. I'm in midlife, but not a crisis.

I'm 38 and male...

I have been a Ford guy since day one. I have had all Ford vehicles:

89 Escort GT, 91 Ford Ranger, 2001 Mustang V6, 2004 Ford F150 (STX), 2007 Ford F150 (Supercrew - still have), and now a 2011 GT500

To tell you the truth, I have had basically zero major problems with any of these vehicles..

I hope not, I'm only 28! But single and no kids means I still get to buy fun toys. If I can do anything about it, it's Gunna stay that way for a while.
