I took my car back a couple of weeks ago for the 2nd time because the whine was worse after their first attempt at repair. The 2nd time in they found a bad side bering and replaced it re-shimed the ring and pinion. The rearend felt tighter when I got it back but it had a bad whine around 40mph when you let off the gas. I called them back and they said that they talked to FOMOCO and if would bring it back in they would put in a another new ring & pinion gear as well as replace both side bearings. Only need it for a day. I took it in on Tuesday 7am and got it back on Thursday 5pm!
But the good news here is they fixed the whine and I'm happy! No issues with the car now.
BTW the squeaky sound when making sharp turns is no longer there.
