Earlier this year I was kicked off local track with my new mods before I could practice/dial in. No rollbar.
So I'm told at track rentals they don't hassle you for no rollbar. Wrong!
Anyway, my first and only full pass of the day yielded a new PB:
60' 1.743
1/8 7.067 @ 103.44
1/4 10.868 @ 127.86
A little disappointed as I only launched at around 2200 being it was the first run of the day. I feel with a higher rpm launch (track prep was great) I might have been able to get some 10.6x's with a better 60'.
Shifting was done around 6300 to 6400.
Mods listed below.
Rollbar this Winter.

Great job! Was at the Sansone rental a few weeks ago. Too bad you missed that one. I was warned about the cage as well if you start to approach the low 11's. I will be there on Monday as the weather should be in the mid 50's. I'd love to pull a 1.7 60'. The 3.31's have to go. Once again congrats on the great time.

Do they not ask for tranny shield or S.F.I. bellhousing?

Thanks for the compliments guys. There's definitely more in the car, but I've only had a total of 4 passes at two tracks since my latest round of mods, which included the porting by Brian. I was flagged both times. Can't blame the tracks for insisting on the rollbar and jacket. I plan to have both for next season.

Hi, my name is David McQuiston. I'm from louisiana. I will be picking up my 2011 Shelby GT500 Friday. I'm new to this site and was looking for some information on tires and rims. I love the drag race look.( skinnies in the front and meats in the back) I want to go with some 17 inch rims in the front and would like to go with some 18's on the back with some drag radials. I like the idea of having 15 inch rims in the back due to the many different sizes of tires that they have for this rim though. But i do not want to change rotor sizes or grind on my brake calibers. I had to do this to my 99 cobra, but it was an older car. What has to be done to fit some 15 x 10's with some 325/50/15 tires and does anyone have pics of these on their car or either some 18 x 10's with some m&h tires. Thanks ( venomoussnake)

15 x 10's and 325/50/15's should only require a sway bar relocation kit to fit. You'll probably want an adjustable panhard bar to center things up. A better upper control arm is pretty much required for serious drag racing. Lower control arm upgrade will help keep you straighter off the line.
I'm running widened 18 x 11 stockers with the 345's and they just barely fit. This set-up weighs about 65 lbs for each and probably costs me a tenth or two in the quarter. I plan on changing my drag set-up this year too.

Not sure if you knew but the car comes factory with 19s front and back or 19 front and 20 back if you get one with the SVT Performance pkg. Just food for thought.
