Just picked my new beast up, and I was wondering how everyone that runs at the track handled the break in period. To paraphrase SVT, they want you to wait until 1k miles until "competition" driving conditions.

Varied speeds and no full throttle til 600 miles. Changed oil at 900 miles.

After 1000 I let 'er rip.

I change oil and plugs every 2500 miles. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

I put a good 500-600 city miles on my clutch before I started to hit it hard.
I didn't go racing until it well over 1,000 city miles.

Remember- highway miles do nothing for breaking in the clutch. Best thing is to do a lot of city driving with varied RPM for the engine as well.

I have waited to change the oil though, on both my '08 and my 2010, I left the break-in oil in the car for 5000 miles. Wanted to make sure things "seat" before I put the full synthetic in. This is debated a lot as to the need to do it. Some say it does not matter.
